Guide on how to install NUTT hydraulic brakes on an electric scooter. I performed the installation on a VDM-10* scooter, replacing the old leaking ZOOM brakes.
The guide should also help when doing the installation on other electric scooters as the main steps will be the same.
If you have any questions or something was not very clear, leave a comment and I will try to help if I can.

hello my friend, i've been looking over all of the internet on where to buy these brakes. Could you tell me where you bought it please

Hi, I bought them on aliexpress for around $115, unfortunately when I checked the seller I bought from is no longer active. But if you search on there for nutt hydraulic brakes you should find other sellers. I have also seen a newer 4 piston version of nutt brakes being sold, so those might be worth looking into as well.

Hi, you didn't have to cut cable from the sensor, you just removed the sensor from the old lever and put it on the new lever from the nut, that's what I did and it works perfectly

Did not think of trying that, it just seemed easier to cut it, plus I wanted to add the julet connectors to the brakes anyway as I like to have all items on the handlebars easily removable. Do you have some pics of how you did it?

hi friend, can you recommend which oil needles are suitable for these brakes? what pins are suitable? are they compatible with Maguro pins and oil needles?

Hello, sorry but no idea if they are compatible with Maguro parts. When I was buying the NUTT brakes from aliexpress I got some spare oil needles I found by searching for "nutt brake oil needle" there are several sellers that have them, just check reviews to see which ones are best to buy from. Hope this helps.

My brakes both front and back work well, no problems so far braking from different speeds, most often from around 30km/h. Sorry not sure what might be causing the 'jog issue' on your front brake.

I have a set of those brakes that leak from where they attach to the caliper are there any washers/o rings apart from on the bolt that goes through it?
@Lantea13
@Lantea13 Ай бұрын
I had the exact same problem of leaks from the caliper attach point. I tried several different o-rings, but did not manage to fix the issue and I ended up replacing the zoom brakes with NUTT brakes kzbin.info/www/bejne/h4iknaOfaM-tb5o So far the NUTT brakes are much better and no more leaks. Sorry I could not help more, but I tried for months to source parts and tried different o-ring without success. No scooter seller or even zoom brake seller was even able to provide a manual for the zoom brakes or a way to buy replacement parts; they all just said I should buy a whole new caliper.

@Lantea13 Hello , can anyone help me please..? I got similar brakes (NUTT ) on my D.Victor 🛴 but it's only working while I'm on high speed then slowling down to 40/30/20 it make a little noise but suddenly get loose (then Zero break power) I tried to screw in the tiny nut behind the break handle but I can't see HOW to tighten the break pads.. I can see a tiny screw by the side of the brakes block but I don't know what is it made for.. (?) To take of oil or to tighten the break pads.? I can't try that screw in case some oil could come out of it..and so cold be worse..(??) Idk , I'm lost and that's so dangerous Please help me guys 🙏🏻

Hello, On hydraulic brakes you don't need to tighten the brake pads, they adjust automatically. You only need to replace them once they wear out. If you fully squeeze the brake lever and you are not getting any braking strength, you might need to bleed the brakes. I did a guide on the zoom brakes, but not yet on the NUTT ones as I haven't had to bleed them yet. The process should be very similar. kzbin.info/www/bejne/mmWyimunab6godU To better test your brakes and diagnose the problem put the scooter up on a box or a chair, so the wheels are in the air, spin them up and as you press the brake lever watch the brake pads on the caliper and see if they move and make contact with the brake disc, it might give you a better idea of where the problem lies. Hope this helped.

Maybe you can give me a hint (since you have experience with both brands) whether Zoom and Nutt levers are compatible? (I have leakage on lever of Zoom so I want to replace it with Nutt)
@Lantea13
@Lantea13 7 ай бұрын
I haven't tested that. I just replaced the whole brakes, so not sure if it would work optimally that way. If you only need to replace one lever it might be safer to just get a zoom replacent lever.

Hello,What brake oil do you use in Nutt hydraulic brakes?
@Lantea13
@Lantea13 15 күн бұрын
I still have the stock oil in there, but if I needed to bleed the brakes I would probably use shimano mineral oil, or the blue magura oil. I would first check what colour the oil is inside the brakes. If you do a full flash any miniral oil for bicycle hydraulic brakes should work.

Hi, i have a scooter that has a closed brake system, the rear brake is no longer working, and the front brake is squishy. I messaged the company for what size brake pads i need, and the told me i cant change the pads, that i have to spend 100s of dollars and buy two completely new brakes from them. That doesseem right to me, do you have any knowledge regarding this? Thanks. Oh, and i have completely disabled the eletronic brakes in p settings, will i still have to use brake fluid?
@Lantea13
@Lantea13 8 ай бұрын
Sorry not sure what you mean by "closed brake system"; What brand brakes do you have and what scooter? The electronic brake is not related to the hydraulic/mechanical brakes but is independent braking by the scooter motor - electrically.

Hello mate I'm sure there's a way to change the break pads.. those people probably didn't understood what I ask and else they're care less with theyr customers Try to take of the all block.. and then check if there's a way to take of the pads . It's supposed to be a tiny metalic V system who hold the pads ...use a twister to sqizz and pull that tiny piece of metal between the break pads.. Otherwise just try to use a tiny piece of sand paper to clean the pads in case oil went on Ur disk while cleaning or else.. Good luck mate

I tried to fix an oil leak from the calipers on the zoom brakes, but just gave up after wasting way too much time on it. The NUTT brakes are way better, at least from my experience with them so far.
