Just a tip - don't cast Li-ion batteries in resin, should it vent, you're essentially holding a small bomb, as the gases have no way to escape, and will blow apart the resin with flames.

GREAT VIDEO, I plan to build it: on the schematic at timestamp 4:37 Can you please tell me the ratings of diodes VD1 - VD4? I assume the capacitors C1 - C3 are 470pF? One more thing...THANK YOU FOR USING REAL SCHEMATIC DRAWINGS!!!

*Kasyan TV* Challenge: What is the most complex power supply or handy bench device/circuit you can design using only passive components and general purpose TO-92 BJT transistors? No FETs, no TO-220 stuff. If I handed you a bag of 100 2N3904 & 2N3906 transistors, what's the most impressive thing you can think of to build? My challenge can include any Transistor that comes in the little ~$3 transisor kits with around 15 different kinds of BJT's from places like AliEx. I know it's possible to build a switch mode power supply, crude op amps, logic circuits, and voltage regulators. What can you think of to build. I want some shock and awe please. -From a Fan of Yours ;)

Could you please make a easy to make and cheap spot welder without microwave or flyback transformers...and 👍for printer parts reusing..
@UpcycleElectronics7 жыл бұрын
Not possible. There's no way around using a transformer to get the current needed to weld using mains power. The only other way to make it work is lots and lots of batteries, but that has it's own set of problems too. The power you get from mains is from a step down transformer from the utility company. Everything you do with mains voltage is sourced from the utility company's transformer. You wouldn't be able to handle several kilovolts of electricity from the other side of that transformer. The same principal applies to the current transformer needed to weld. The mains transformer setup used to provide power to most houses and businesses is way too high of a voltage with too low of a current for welding due to the transformer design. You can change this to something useful, but you must use a transformer with the correct type of core and primary/secondary turns ratio to make it work.

Falguni Vyas Any old or broken printer, bro. :) Here in my city (I'm from Brazil) there's a fair that happens once a week where people sell everything. From new and good stuff to old parts from broken things, including food, people giving pet's puppies and so on... And I already bought old printers there, really cheap. Maybe you have something like that around you. :)

In the US you just go to second hand stores and ask them what they do with electronics that don't work. They almost always throw them out and will let you take any of them. The printer used in this video was probably a laser printer. Laser printers are the only ones that need high voltage (as far as I know/in my experience as a hobbyist). Similar high voltage transformers can be found in any older flat screen TV or display that uses CCFL's (cold cathode fluorescent light) for the backlight. You can also find these types of high voltage transformers on some portable heaters.
