Vanessa Mae and Bond - it's amazing and talented musicians! Thanks to them, many people have become interested in the classics. This is a great achievement. They were the first to use the electric violin, but it was so long ago) is now the world's many ensembles with electric violins. And now we listen more than look to the violin ... and choose what we like. Storm by Antonio Vivaldi is one of the most powerful classical pieces! It is not surprising that this music is played all musicians :)

This has been a favourite of mine for several years. It actually reminds quite a lot of my favourite Vivaldi/Summer recording, (from the 60s, I believe), which also has a very steady, almost mechanical tempo/beat. One thought I had recently: for electric violins, aren't there better possibilities to enhance the rather flat/dull sound? In my ears, the lack of harmonic overtones, for each tone/string/instrument actually makes the tone sound a bit flat. Aren't there better technical possibilities today to add harmonic overtones with the help of digital filters to make a richer sound, that sounds closer to a traditionally built violin/string instrument? [I realize that there's quite a lot of compression used in the production of this track, which of course reduces overtones, so that might be a part of it, for this particular recording...]
