I have owned the Supersplit for years. Split all my firewood inside a large building while it is raining out side. Love the machine.

I have one of these. I run it on 220. I built a 10' x 2' feed ramp that I load with logs. I have gotten so fast with this machine it's amazing. My buddy and I have processed and stacked 9 cords of wood so far this year in 11 days. That includes felling the trees and cutting them into 16" logs for splitting. And those work days were very short. We're no spring chickens. The splitter is quiet and I don't breathe gas fumes or have to worry about oil changes or any of that. I haven't noticed any real extra usage on my electric bill. All this splitter needs is a bit of WD40 every so often to keep things running smoothly. Great company that makes these and it's made in the USA.

+Bourne Accident How do you run it on 220? You'd think they'd come out with an option from the factory to do this.

Peachride EightyNine Yes. At the time of purchase, I was asked if I wanted it wired for 110v or 220v. You can email the company and ask them if your motor can be rewired for 220v. The guys that make these things will answer you directly and are great to work with.

I'm fairly certain you can just change the wiring in the motor between 130 volt and 230 volt quickly and easily.

I'm liking this even more than the gas powered Super Split. Pity the silly export restrictions prevent this being available in NZ. Not sure how this could be prohibited technology but I guess you can't argue with "offushials"

@sailzman It all depends on your application. If you are close to home the electric is great, quiet and no oil changes or bad fuel. I believe the gas model has more push thru power. I would spend the $ on a HD model. The timberwolf splitter are nice. If you were always doing nasty big stuff that would be the way to go. That being said I have a 30ton hydraulic splitter for the nasty stuff and I can't remember the last time I used it. The nastys just end up going thru the supersplit.

the only problem i have found with my kinetic splitter a DR k-10 model...is that it splits so fast that i am tempted to make each piece smaller...finally having toothpicks...lol

see if supersplit still makes a gas/electic super splitter. I have one - is my neighbors and is on loan - don't have an elec. outlet that I can use for it but the gas engine works great. My neighbor said the elec. motor is awesome so I will use it when I get power outside. It's great because electirc and gas gives the best of both worlds.

Actually, the gas powered super split model will not be more powerful than this electric one. The motor used on the electric Super Split is an AC induction motor which are very powerful compared to the universal motors used in power tools, blenders, and vacuum cleaners. That is why it takes less electric motor HP to do the same job as gas power.

@theonethatgotaway007 Would be interesting if the company was willing to send you one in pieces instead. Break it down to 4 or 5 separate pieces and ship it as wood splitter parts.

Looks great. My little 7 ton electric Timber Champ has about the same speed but not the same snort. For the wood I split here mine works great . But I would like a bigger one that can handle 24" long wood or lon ger.

Splitting at the speed I like to run. Most guys on KZbin look like they are running in slow motion. Almost all my firewood for sale is camping bundles so small pieces is the norm and working fast is the only way to make it pay.

@iamthebaird3 жыл бұрын
@@gordonlewis984 about 120 volt difference... ;-) I just ordered one at 240v but as shown above, the 120v option works fine as long as you have a relatively short, heavy extension cord.
