In this video I show my updated electric truckmount ETM setup and my vlm - very low moisture - carpet cleaning setup. I am using some of the same components but have changed out and eliminated some others. The changes include eliminating the General 1500 psi pump that I had used mainly for tile and grout cleaning and replacing it with a Pumptec 500 psi pump. Also I replaced the Turbo Hybrid TH40 tile spinner with a tile wand. I no longer use a generator to power the equipment because after eliminating the larger pump, everything will run on just two cords. I am still using the Mytee waste tank although I've replaced the older 80 gallon tank with one of the newer 54 gallon models after the old tank cracked. I am still using the Little Giant 2HT 65,000 btu propane heater and the same vacuum system of two Ametek Lamb 116765-13 vacuum motors. I've switched to doing much more vlm - very low moisture - carpet cleaning so I am carrying the Challenger Pad Systems OP machine and the Oreck Orbiter, plus the pads and accessories to go with them. Finally, I am still using the Workhorse Cleartrack vacuum cleaner which I have been very happy with. I've been using this same basic setup ETM setup for the past nine years and still have no plans to change to a traditional gas powered truckmount. Electric truckmounts such as mine and even the Mytee Escape ETM have bridged the gap between gas truckmounts and portable extractors.

Thank you. I always figured I would transition to a trasitional truckmount at some point but the more I used this setup, I just couldn't justify any real reason to do it. On-board water would be nice and I could always add a fresh water tank with a little rearranging but other than that, this setup has served me so well I doubt I'll ever go with one.

LOVE your set up! I was a H.W.E. tech for 8 years and have wanted to start my own business and get away from commercial truckmounts and into encapsulation for awhile now. Your videos have singlehandedly helped me solve all the major issues I've run into with my concept planning... And I've done alot of research! Thank you, many blessings and Merry Christmas. EDIT: A PMF titanium wand worked really well for me and they are only $700-$800. They are a metal fabricator company out of Kalamath Falls Oregon and I believe they made wands for Chem Pro and just decided to manufacture for themselves. Great glide that comes with them. Hope it helps. =)

I actually bought a Mytee Air Hog earlier in the year mainly for longer hose runs and although I still haven't needed it, it has crazy strong vacuum! I've stuck with the vacs I've been using because they are a good balance of power and reliabilty but may go ahead and try the 6.6's next time I need to replace them.

@@AllAmericanMack isn't the vacuum motor in mytee air hog two stage vacuum motor? how come it has more suction than the three stage ametek motors you used in your steel drum electric truck mount? keep making more videos. you teach so much to new guys.
@AllAmericanMack
@AllAmericanMack 3 жыл бұрын
Those two stage motors are rated higher than the ones I use. No doubt hey are powerful and even though I've never used my Air Hog other than turning it on to make sure it worked, they seemed to have a lot of vacuum. I honestly don't know why a 2 stage would be more powerful than a 3 stage though and I think it goes a little deeper than looking at the specs printed on paper. From my research, those Mytee vacs need to be used in series achieve optimum performance. With longer hose runs like on an ETM's, I believe parallel is a better setup and provides plenty of lift plus more CFM. The Mytee vacs are screaming at the vac port on the Air Hog but how do they perform at 150'? They may do OK but they aren't magical so there's always a trade-off between lift and cfm with every vac motor but I think the ones I use offer the best of both worlds. Plus, they last a "long" time and aren't that expensive.

@@AllAmericanMackthank you for your answer. that clears away some of the confusion. i live in a country with 220v-240v electricity. does ametek 117123-0 (240v 3 stage 5.7" vacuum motor) work similar to ametek 3 stage vacuum motor that you used in your electric truck mount?

Question, does the pump come in-line before or after the propane heater? Does it feed through the giant or does the giant feed through the pump? Thanks much
@AllAmericanMack
@AllAmericanMack 2 жыл бұрын
The heater is *after* the pump since the water would be too hot for the pump to handle. It's setup where I connect a hose from the outside faucet to the pump and then the pump into the heater and I connect my solution line directly to the heater.

I got a mytee vac booster and a water otter, just incase my truck mount breaks down. I used it once and was pretty impressed. Takes 3 cords on separate breakers so I need tons of extension cords but it does clean almost as well as a truckmount. I just hook to a hot water source like a sink. It says the pump can handle 150 degree water. But the mytee booster is 240ish cfm. Two 6.6 vacs and auto dump. it has 2 14 amp cords. You can use the water otter without plugging it in but its probably 150- 200 psi.

limpieza profunda No, this motor is designed for clean, filtered air. The epoxy coating is to help protect it from any moisturr that ends up going through it. If you could could somehow filter the air efficiently before it reaches the tank it could be used, but it would have to removed before extraction so it wouldn't get wet.

Did you split the power cord for the pumptec into the vac motors. Does one outlet draw more power than the other or is it equal? Also will it hurt the customers power source with the vac and pump in one?
@AllAmericanMack
@AllAmericanMack 3 жыл бұрын
I connected the pump to one if the vac motor cords. So now one cord pulls a max of 13.1 amps and the other pulls a max of 16.1 amps. *BUT* those max amp numbers are at immediate startup only and they don't always even reach that high. When I was checking the amp draw, the cord with only the vac motor never peaked out and would stay bwtween 9 and 11 amps. I don't remember what the cord with the vac and pump peaked at, but it never reached max amps every time I checked it. As a matter of fact, even though the pump states a max draw of 3 amps, it never went above 2 amps. It should not hurt anything and the only issues that I can think of are if the customer would happen to have something else that was drawing a lot of power on the same circuit it *could* trip a breaker but that's not really a big deal, or if it's a very old house with15 amp breakers there is the possibility that it may trip a breaker. Honestly, these aren't anything I would even worry about though since they would rarely happen, if ever.

Perfect I wasn’t sure if it would hit the 15 amp mark, I’m still building my set up with the metal tank, I like this new set up no generator and I do the same I use a quality stripper for tile and a light scrub does the job no need for the 1,000 psi pump and that pumptec is half the price

What fittings do you have on that pumptec what should I order? Also have you ever had to service the little giant heater? If so what are the steps?
@AllAmericanMack
@AllAmericanMack 3 жыл бұрын
I ordered the pump and installation kit with some of the fittings but had to make a couple trips to Lowe's to get some additional ones. I really don't remember which ones I needed though. The install kit is really designed for installing the pump into a portable which is why I needed additional fittings to make it work for my application. I'll make a video of it tomorrow. I've used the Little Giant since 2012 and about a year and a half ago had the first and only issue with it which was the thermocouple and they are super easy and cheap to replace. I went ahead and cleaned out the burner ring while I was at it which is just turning it upside down and banging out any crud, and using a tip cleaner to clean the jets. Other than that, the only other maintenance they may need is to be descaled but I don't run any chemicals through mine, just water so I didn't need to do that. If you search Judson and Little Giant Heater on youtube, he has a video showing the maintenance.

I don't know if this pump would prime with on board water or not. I would say to call Pumptec and ask them as I had a couple questions about setting it up and they were very helpful. Even if it doesn't prime at least it would be an easy fix with a cheap transfer pump. I actually have a freshwater tank I was going to install but space was just so tight I never imstalled it.
