I practice on my electric ukulele more than my actual ukulele. When I practice, the kids are in bed, my wife understandably wants some peace. I play it unplugged and can really practice till my little heart is content whilst not disturbing anyone at all

Hi Alex, my maple tenor arrived 2 days ago. And I must say: this is the best set-up ukulele I ever got! Plays like a dream, intonates near perfection and is extremely versatile in sound. You can get everything from beefy over jazzy to gnarly. And the sound is evenly picked up across the strings. Man is this thing awesome!

Alex I love you for doing this!! Well, actually I just love you .. but you know what I mean. These instruments are not my cup of tea .. but I have learned so much from this one video! Very educational. Thank you so much.

Oh good... I knew it would be a wordy video but plugging in and live sound are an entirely different science to just playing a uke.

Mate, another brilliant video! love all your content...on another subject, when are you making a tutorial for that song you always play?? :D

If you go onto my ukes with Alex channel you will find a tutorial for it from about 4 months ago. It's called 'walk in the park'

These look and sound great! I'm still wishing for an electric baritone with nylon strings though. I may be the only one, alas. I'm going to be tempted by these anyway :).

Nice to see more solid body electric ukuleles coming to the market! Do they come with any cases, by the way?

Thanks Alex! Nice to see some options in this space as solid bodies are great for late night practice without waking the family. I may have missed it, but what pickup is Snail using?
@SouthernUkuleleStore2 жыл бұрын
There is no brand to speak of. I would imagine its a proprietry unit made for them by one of the big guitar piezo manufacturers like Artec or Double. Its a 9v powered undersaddle piezo with volume and tone.

Hey everyone. Does anyone know where I can buy the pickup with volume and tone control knobs on those ukuleles? I'll appreciate any help. thanks!

Alex, what’s the nut width on the tenor? Heard 35 for the concert. Been looking for solid T with 38 nut but no luck other than maybe going custom. Suggestions?

Ukuleles are already super thin, does it take time to get used to the thinner body or is it not so much a bother?
@SouthernUkuleleStore2 жыл бұрын
I find that I prefer the depth of a normal Ukulele but traditionally female players that visit the shop like the slimline bodies as they fit against the chest a bit easier.
@bonniedavidson9362 жыл бұрын
@@SouthernUkuleleStore I like the thinner ukulele. I have smaller hands and they feel more comfortable

Hi, watching this several months later. Great review. I am pondering buying one of these. What is the difference between Tenor and Concert? is it neck length? Body size? and does it make a difference to the sound compared to concert? I am presuming that amp type and settings are more significant. I generally prefer tenor for an acoustic instrument.
@SouthernUkuleleStore Жыл бұрын
Yeh the bodies are different sizes as well as the scale length. The difference in sound on this only really comes from the difference in tension on the necks.

Very disappointed with my Snoie. The A string goes progressively out of tune up the neck, and the pickup noise is distracting.
