This video should be considered essential viewing for all new EUC riders and even some not so new. Slow speed control is so important and improves your riding at all speeds. The other way to improve agility is go ride trails. Mud, sand, gravel uneven surfaces etc

You make it looks so easy. Trying to learn on this 16s is so much harder than a larger wheel

I just took my EUC on the trail, bike trail. Bumps, sharp turns, constant balancing, roots, jumps, grass... Nice :). This is where it fun, like you mention - control.

Nice 🤘 all that stuff is fantastic for building muscle reflexes and in return, increasing your safety on the wheel!!

@@GoGeorge I forgot to add, I'm also learning how to... fall. It is actually true, since even at 8 mpg falls can be quite "intricate" ;).

Great video. Starting with larger circles and boxes and slowly shrinking them down over time can ease some frustration.

The way I learned, for better or worse, I learned to go slow much earlier than going fast. I basically started learning to free-mount and maneuver below 5 mph for the first week. Getting up to 15 mph took me much longer, but I don't regret the way I learned. I know Wrong Way's GF (Motocat) didn't even learn to free mount at all until she'd already ridden like 100km - totally different approach, and much less tiring on the feet and legs, I'm sure.

Next video: Change starting and ending foot. I noticed you always put down the same foot. And the same for starting. I learn to ride on a gravel driveway. Ouch. When I went to concrete, I brought orange traffic cones. I quickly learned not to hit the cones. I lost every time. Another great place to practice is Skateboard parks when they're empty. Still riding at age 80. No, I don't go fast. I enjoy stopping and talking with the curious. Look forward to more videos. Great stuff.

Im love ride trails ... offroad driving is so nice with an EUC, if you train your body to riding slow on bumpy and slipy trails, you have more and more fun. In my opinion, the EUC takes me to places that i would never volunatarity walk. It brings me out of my comfort zone and so i have a better quality of life. Oh i ride a V10F greetings from Germany

@@GoGeorge I just started riding a few days ago and this will help me. My left turns are good but my right turns feel not in control. There are lots of 'how to begin' and 'how to go fast' videos on KZbin but not much on slow speed practice exercises Thanks for making this video.

@@Simonisms Really glad it helped! I have not seen many videos about this type of agility practice so i figured it would be a good one to start with.

I enjoyed both of your videos, but particularly this one. You have a good way of teaching, so much so that after watching this, I looked at your video list to find more tip videos Unfortunately there aren't any more yet.. I am looking forward to the list growing (soon I hope). Keep up the good work!

This is how I learned before I hit the streets! I’m on an inmotion v10 and my apartment complex is pretty much an alley so I rode back and forth with my kids riding bikes and playing and naturally I had to stop and be agile to go in and around them. Start off slow and pick up your speed when it’s comfortable. Such great videos George, I WISH I found your channel when I was learning. I still consider myself a beginner I have a few hundred miles now. I really enjoy your content!

This is what I do on my motorcycle. Slow speed practice equals high speed safety. Hint find a tennis center. They throw out balls all the time. Cut a bunch in half and you have free slalom set up
@GoGeorge4 жыл бұрын
I love that tip! I had brought some plastic toy bowling pins with me but they kept blowing all over. Bright tennis balls is clever!

your video is 4 years old, but still valid for any new unicyclist. My bought my first EUC last month and it took me just a few hours to learn to ride. It must have helped that I been riding a non-electric uni for 9 years already. However, you seem to be riding a light-weight uni with the pedals low to the ground. I bought the KS S16Pro, after having seen some good reviews. But it is a very heavy machine (33kg). I reckon doing those exercises from your video will take a bit longer time on these heavier EUC's? I find making small turns quite difficult and freemounting I can only do after 2 steps. Also riding with just one foot is difficult, because of the weight. Do you have experience with heavier EUC's as well?
@GoGeorge3 күн бұрын
@Setonix i do! I currently rode the heaviest euc, the master pro lol. I should redo these old videos to account for the new wheels on the market

0:56 be aware that these pedals are not as unbreakable as the original ones. I did the same switch to the V10 pedals and broke a pedal within some 50-or-so soft knee curb drops @ 80kg rider weight. There are many reports of V10 pedals breaking and even some for the improved V8F pedal.
