Hats off to this professor. Could any one tell me that why it is needed to convert "time domain function" into "frequency domain function"?
@MichelvanBiezen5 жыл бұрын
Depending on the applications, we can see and understand certain aspects in the frequency domain that we can't see in the time domain, and we can more easily solve certain problems in the frequency domain compared to the time domain.

Thank you Michel van Biezen, could you please give me one example?
@navjotsingh22514 жыл бұрын
abdur rauf sound can be easier to understand in the frequency domain. Thats one example.

how is sinC(wt/2)=1 because Asin(wt/2) as w ---> 0 i.e. w=1,1/2 ,1/3 ,1/4 ...... 0 you get the sin graph to be stretched into a horizontal line (step function) at y(t)= A but now Asin(wt/2)/(wt/2) = A/(wt/2) as w ---> 0 i.e. w=1,1/2 ,1/3 ,1/4 ...... 0 = A/(0t/2) =2*A/0= undefined as zero does not exist. please help i understand why Asin(wt/2)= A as w ---> 0 i.e. w=1,1/2 ,1/3 ,1/4 ...... 0 but sinC(wt/2) i do not Many thanks Edit one way which helps me understand how sinC(wt/2) =Asin(wt/2) /(wt/2) = 1 as lim w ---> 0 since sin (0) = 0 a very small number then sin(wt/2) as lim w ---> 0 is a number that approaches 0 i.e. 1, 1/2 , 1/3 ....1/9999.... a very very small number then similarly wt/2 as lim w--->0 is a very small number thus A*(small number/small number) = A*1 = A this makes since in terms of limits but at 0 i don't know as sin(0)/0 = 0/0 = undefined

Ca you explain what the amplitude spectrum is for? It looks like the absolute value of F(w), why lose the sign of the amplitude?

why is 3pi/T plugged in for omega (W) in the amplitude spectrum formula. i thought omega was 2pi/T ???

Why do they always teach the rect. pulse alone without showing the spectrum of only one single edge.

We are trying our best. I work 3 jobs and do this in our "spare" time. Once I retire I will have much more time to work on this.

Michel van Biezen Yeah I imagine. I havent enter this topic yet but with all this I hope I can be very prepared when the time arrives.

Can any one answer why we get rid of the negative as professor at 04:43 sec of the video
@casp44315 жыл бұрын
Its the amplitude spectrum which denotes the denotes the absolute value of |F(w)|. So when F(w) = -1, |F(w)| = 1. Notice how the "bumps" which are negative on the top graph becomes positive on the bottom graph. Can u tell me how to find energy of sinc function ?

put value of X(0) and find the value that is your energy.ie; AT

Amplitude spectrum the same as frequency spectrum?
@rosaliademartino72655 жыл бұрын
frequency spectrum = amplitude spectrum + phase spectrum. You plot both Amplitude and Phase in terms of frequency

Didn't know James Murray from Impractical Jokers taught math
@rudranarayan76317 жыл бұрын
Sorry to say this. I am not sure whether it is math lecture or electrical engineering lecture. If electrical engineering it should be explained in terms of power and energy. Either he doesn't want to teach that intuition or he doesn't know how to teach or he doesn't know that relation ;)

this shows you dont know your engineering well. sorry to say this, read up

And who are you actually, are you a professor, what is your achievement? Are you an expert in Math and EE. Just because you do not understand something, doesn't give you a right to be rude and juding the Professor, with "he doesn't know how to teach", he is a great teacher indeed. It teels more about you, the professor is helping thousands of people.
@sasaocam6 жыл бұрын
I thin that the professor was clear when he said that the video is about Amplitude Spectrum of a Rectangular Pulse. Of course is related to signals and systems in EE. I would like to see in an upcoming video how it can be related with the sinc(x) function and how to calculate its energy. Bravo professor, you did very good!!!

I hope you can count. This is the 8th video of a series of 45 videos. have you looked at the other 37 videos? Don't you think this might be addressed at some later time? Instead you spout off for no good reason. He is a goodteacher giving a great product (for free I might add). A good teacher breaks down a complicated subject into small sections that can be more easilyunderstood. A great teacher ties all these ideas together later on. I'm looking forward to seeing where this leads. Sadly you will probably never see this comment because you are out looking for something else to complain about. A wise person once said that if you have nothing good to say you should keep it to yourself.

Clearly, he doesn’t know vi relations and how the first 5 terms will normally be 90% of power consumption. Silly prof
