your way is fine but i prefer to calculate the current of the line by doing 240/50 = 4.8A through the circuit and then you can calc the VS = IR or VS = (4.8)(10+50+10j) or VS=4.8(60+10j) == VS=(288+48j) take the M of that and that gives you 291.97 as well :D

Would Z0 be considered in series with ZL? If so, shouldn't Vin and VL be different values unless Z0 = 0 (hence lossless)?

Z0 is probably the total impedance from Vin+ to Vin-. Since there is no resistance between Vin+ to VL+, Z0 = ZL, in other words all of the input impedence comes from the load.

I came up with the same magnitude but a different angle: 291.97 < 0.16
