For the voltage drop calculation you should take load current which is actually drawn by the motor! Not the value used to rate your cable! Right?

Always find the values based on rated load as it keeps u safe

Didnt really understand that how at the beginning of calculations and without knowing the cable size, we can assume going for 2 multicore cables (after which we obtain 388A load current)
@electricallectures7 ай бұрын
This is just supposition in order to calculate group factor. But if you keep foing calculation , you get a rough idea that how many per phase cables are needed to take the load. But proper way is to start by ond cable

This can be found in IEEE wiring regulations. If you have any specific observation regarding calculations you can ask

The NEC (National Electrical Code) manual. I can look up the page numbers if you need em. The NEC is like 900 pages, but there are probably 20 pages you actually need to size any wire.

What if the insulation is TRS?
@electricallectures5 ай бұрын
Then another very critical factor also applies which is enclosed in thermally insulated material. In that case the factor is o.5 if the total run of cable on TRS is 300mm
