better to download it. I've lost countless of YT videos, thinking they'll stay up forever.

This is timeless. Even a general could understand this.

These old military training films are gold. Great examples of what you can do with an unlimited budget. Don’t mess with the U.S.A. . Well, not at least til we go broke😄

A fantastic introduction to voltage! Still useful and relevant!

It's eternal yes and I'm still astonished by the amount of people who just weren't shown such basics of the world we live in. 👍

If only such basics were presented to our youth today, these kind of things are just essential for anyone who needs to understand the world we live in. Thanks to our American cousins 🍀 🇺🇸 🇬🇧

Amazing. The way he emphasizes how the voltage is determined by the chemical composition and the amp hours would be based on quantity of each.

What a nice explanations it was!!!! If we think we're master at voltage/current, then we see this video to see what we know and what should we learn... really wonderful!! We want all the videos on EEE. Thanks so much ❤❤❤

There is ionization of the air between the two charged globes, and the plasma arc is the stream of ionized air molecules with electrons that have been excited to higher orbitals around their atoms, then fall and lose the energy which is given up as photons of light. Electrons are not 'leaving one charged globe and traveling through the air to the other charged globe' - there are existing air molecules that simply are electrically excited to the plasma state. You could demonstrate this by operating the two charged globes in a vacuum chamber that removes all the air molecules, in which case there would be no plasma arc. There would be minor sublimation. But electrons would not jump between the charged globe in either case.

You might be right but you're probably not convincing the audience that this is meant for if you use that much terminology to explain your contention.

@@tkyk4893 Not really trying to sway folks' opinions one way or the other, just made a comment about the physical nature of what's occurring. I work with a small team on artificial gravity devices, and we have a philosophy, "uncover the correct facts to avoid wasting time on a misunderstanding of Nature" An example of huge waste of time is people who spend years believing back EMF spikes from coils are 'over-unity' energy, and do not know Faraday's law. I know people who have spent years on that one. It's vital to get the correct assessment because learning after many years of fooling yourself about Nature can really hit home. With artificial gravity, it is quite easy to make this kind of mistake, because it is a taboo subject and there are no college degrees, no established science on the subject. Trying to get Nature right is freaking vital.

"Army Training Film." The Army had to ask the Air Force if they had anyone that knew about electrification. Cheers. -Sal Ammoniac
