If you live on the 5th floor no elevator, this scooter perfect. Definitely should wait for a sale before buying since 1000$ is a lot

There are cheaper scooters at same weight. But not as perfomant, or lacking in other areas like braking. Generally in this hypercompetitive market you get what you pay for.

Love the light weight, love the high beam lights, and love the turn signals. HOWEVER, the built-in alarm is an absolute nightmare and there is no way to disactivate it. The bluetooth unlock works about 50% of the time, and while the scooter is in my apartment, I constantly see the lights flash every time it detects my phone. The alarm will self-activate upon turning off if the bluetooth also cuts (which I find happens about 50% of the time when turning off the scooter), or after 5 minutes of non-use while bluetooth connected. When triggered, the alarm sounds, lights blink, and the rear wheel locks, which leads to very awkward situations on public transport or riding the elevator in my building (you can deactivate the audible alarm but not the lights and locking). I have to manouvre the scooter indoors with it turned on, which I really dont like doing as I have accidentally touched the accelerator and felt the scooter start to take off in my building's hallway (luckily, I caught it). Also, it doesn't fold & lock as easy as my KQi3 Pro. I often have to make several attempts for the locking mechanism to properly stick.

I really want this thing, but at the price point it doesn't make much sense. When I could get something with dual motors and dual suspension. But man, as someone who lives on a 3rd floor apartment, I would love this.

I have this scooter. Some additional points, the motor overclocks to 700 watt when accelerating. And acceleration is very responsive and strong. If you are coming from a rental scooter be careful. It is rated for 20 degree slope. And at least on shorter hills this seems fair. Twist throttle takes time to get used to, especially due to strong aceleraron as mentioned.

I understand the hate w the smaller motor, but like for the weight it is quite amazing, and ot would be great to see this tech evenually go up to nice higher end scooters. I personally wouldnt trust this scooter if it came out with massive power and big wheels, but if they came out with one a year later after learning about this it would be great Imagine a full carbon dualtron that only weighs 50lbs, or companys go the direction of some roadbikes with engineered flex, and great sorta a passive suspension for the rear of scooters

still has nothing in etwow GTS. 31 mph 29 pounds solid tires but the suspension is the best iv felt for solid tires. 750 w moter. still the only scooter to have a higher top speed than its weight in pounds that i have seen. there are definitely compromises to get this scooter so compact and so lightweight but still fast. handle bars are to narrow. deck is narrow but its long which helps. small solid tires. thats what it takes to gaive it the best weight/ performance ratio in its class. I ride mine all the time in the warmer months.
@whynotstartusingyourbrain872611 ай бұрын
Exactly. In the warmer month because it is not protected against water at all. You cannot even take it on longer trips in the summer because he you get into a rain shower your scooter will get damaged.

i'd love to see how this compares to the uscooters gt se and gt sport. i can tell just by looking at it that the huge deck and wide handlebars are gonna be a significant advantage in terms of comfort, but i'd have liked to see some suspension on it, although the pneumatic tires do help. it's only half the power but honestly, on flat ground 350W is plenty. the range comparison is the one i'd be the most interested in, especially at equal speeds. i hope they make a dual motor 2x500W scooter at some point with this body. they could probably still stay under 30-35lbs with that while putting an incredible amount of power on the ground

Thanks for the review! Looking forward to my NIU KQi Air I pre-ordered, it will be delivered shortly. App issues are always a headache, but NIU's is pretty robust usually, I find. Twist throttle will be interesting for sure, I'm hoping it will be more durable than the current thumb throttle they have. The main failure point on NIU scooter's are the thumb throttle, though it is a good feeling thumb throttle when it works. On my KQi3 Max and KQi2 Pro (as well as my nephew's KQi3 Max), the throttle broke within a year of use (under 1000KM), and is not part of their 2 year warranty (it's considered an accessory, so 6 months warranty). Though they may provide exceptions, don't expect it to be free to fix if it happens outside of this timeframe. I found a local guy to replace the throttles, who did pick up and drop off, only took a couple days, and cost a little over $100 CAD each. Better than packing them, sending them back to NIU, potentially paying for it, and waiting 3 weeks (I've done this before). We'll see how it goes, as I'm hoping this will retire my KQi3 Max and KQi2 Pro, so I only have this and my dual motor Apollo City Pro 23`. On that note, I would love to see a dual motor option in the future which can compete with the City Pro. PS - not a fan of disc brakes at this level for scooters. Drum brakes are so much lower maintenance, no getting bent or banged up (especially if going to be a stow and go scooter), and are worth the minor loss in braking performance. Apollo got this right on the City Pro. Just my 2 cents. Keep the reviews coming!
