Great racing Paul! Eric is no joke. He is an amazingly fast rider. I have watched him a few times in the BAESK8 Intro2Speed gatherings Maribel and Mario have put together. I have some quadcopter chase video of him staying ahead of a lot of very fast riders on EUCs and Powerscooters.

Thanks so much! I started testing yesterday. Literally my first ride, was holding it pinned wide open for 1/2 a mile to find the top speed while fully charged! But we also need a GT3, endurance, and multi class racing. I hope you know what I mean lol :) I don’t even know how the esc roster was set up, what was the criteria, what is the recruitment process. It’ll be good to have very open barrier to entry for most competitions. We don’t want to make the same mistake as car racing. Hey one thing I’m curious about is the throttle.. I haven’t seen 1 single thing about the throttle on this thing. If I had to guess they went with a twist throttle like the roadrunner pro.. but you can’t even see in the picture because it kinda looks like it may have a thumb throttle even..

The Roadster is a thumb throttle. It's a vertical one with fairly short throw, so it's a little twitchy in 5th gear. I pinned it for 1/2 a mile today fully tucked, with my head at handlebard height! It's faster than the GTR for sure, but not as fast as we thought. We'll have lots of coverage of the Roadster coming soon, including a full review. -Paul

It didn't get in the way of my riding, but mentally kept me from taking it to the edge because I was worried of what would happen to my un-healed shoulder if I crashed again. It's going to be a week or two for the full review, but we'll be dropping several shorts before hand! We just published one today kzbin.infoAENrN5Owc6Q showing the wheels-off-the-ground speed. But there turned out to be an error in the motor magnet setting. The scooter said the wheels were free-spinning up to 193 mph on the work bench (not riding, but just spinning the wheels in the air), but I think it was actually about half of that. -Paul

They need to figure out what percentage of throttle curve limiting makes each model down to the same level and make the scooter producers get away from top speed for a few quarters or years and have them focus on just making the scooter better and better at the same power class. Then after we learn more let them get the more power on the track. Fun just more fun is why I suggest this

Store at 50% only charge above 90% when your about to use it. The battery will last a long time only charge what your gonna use and store at nominal as often as possible. Nominal is close enough to 50%

I planned on buying the GTR pretty soon im just not entirely sure though. I want to be able to ride around for a few hours at a time. So the range worries me. For that reason iv also been looking into the Obarter X7 with its 120 mile range. The only semi premium scooter i owned so far was the Yume M11H. It had a all the bells and whistles of a modern 3500 dollar scooter but it went 55mph with a 70 mile range, Absolutly loved it!!

I can guarantee the Obarter does not go 120 miles at any speed that a real person would ride it. The real world range of any scooter with a 3,600ah battery (the X7 is 60V x 60ah = 3600 wh) is going to be very close to 65 miles when ridden inside of a city. Our GTR did 43.2 city miles when we range tested it. That's two hours of continuous city riding, going a little faster than the cars. -Paul

At a steady 10 mph (no starting and stopping) the X7 might actually do 120 miles and the GTR might do 80 miles. So realistically, riding bicycle speeds with starts and stops, you might get the GTR up to 60 miles and the X7 up to 90 miles. During the GTR range test, the top speed between stop signs was around 30mph. -Paul

I think the GTR would have done better on track with traction control turned on, and with better tires. In fact, I'm shocked they were running it in "S" mode. The Kaabo rider lost the front end, saved it, but ended up in the dirt at one point. -Paul

The Vsett 11+ Super would have been a great choice for handling, but is down on raw power (not that power is going to win the race, the two most powerful scooters came in 3rd and 4th). As a former road racer, I absolutely agree. The Inmotion RS was faster than the NAMI, and the GTR was quicker in a straight line than both. For the drag races, it was the scooters, not the riders though :-) -Paul

Thanks. I was trailing the brakes too deep into turn-1 at Bay Area Intro2Speed. I went out to do a shakedown run on the RS to see how it felt with PMT’s. That’s when I figured out I needed to upgrade the shocks and springs. I was probably going 20th, but fell from almost fully upright and must have landed badly on my left arm. Torn rotator cuff didn’t get in the way of racing, but it still hurts more than a month later. It’s slowly getting better though. -Paul
