Well done Marty! Very pleased to see that the Sherman passed the OHH test. As you rightly observe, passing the highly abnormal OHH stress test gives great assurance that there is plenty of margin in the reliability, performance and safety of the Sherman under normal everyday riding conditions. Veteran have done a great job. Read some news that you might be find interesting. Current energy density of the Panasonic 21700 lithium-ion batteries used in Tesla cars is around 260Wh per kg. Elon Musk has tweeted that 400Wh per kg batteries produced in high volume, may be possible in three to four years, an increase of around 50% energy density. This opens up the possibility of an all electric jet. For the Sherman, this could mean the current 3200Wh battery could be replaced with a 4800Wh battery. Tesla expected to announce developments of its battery technology on September 22. Great vid, hope Jason does send you an S18 to try out. I hope he does as you make very good in depth reviews, tests, tear downs and just great vids. Look forward to the next vid, thanks.

I don’t understand why they all seem to use motor wires that are barely (or not quite) thick enough. 14 to 12 gauge? Why not just go straight to 8 gauge to be certain? I’m not an EE guy, maybe there’s a good reason.
@ElectricUnicycles4 жыл бұрын
Physical limitations. All the wires have to be fed through a hole in the axle. Make the hole too big and the axle becomes weak. Currently the axle can support a max size of 12-gauge wires.
@BlackTalon534 жыл бұрын
@@ElectricUnicycles Seems like a major flaw in construction. With those big hub motors you can easily increase the outer diameter of the axle enough to not make it weaker if you increase the size of the center hole.

What's the legalities of riding an EUC in your State? I live in Canada, and according to road rules (which differ amongst provinces).. I have to follow bicycle rules.. but since my MSP passes the 50km/hr threshold for moped use on road, I have to follow motorcycle rules.. meaning I have to modify it to have mirrors, seats, signals. . And a class 6 license (motorcycle). That's what the cops that pulled me over said.. basically I can't ride.. I'm still riding . In the shadows.

Skin it with the husk of one that is legal. Nothing says you can't upgrade a POS and have to report that made your unicycle longer range or whatever. But if you are in Canada do they allow you to tell a lie like that - it's bordering on actual rebellion and the queen hates that shit

Hey Marty, do you have any current alarm set up in EUC World for the Sherman? What value are you using in that case? Thanks in advance.
@ElectricUnicycles3 жыл бұрын
I only use current monitoring when doing extreme tests, sometimes. If I did at the time of this video I don't recall the value. I don't monitor the Sherman current. From experience, if the Sherman's motor starts making loud clicking/grinding sounds, you are using too much current and should stop. This will only happen if going slowly up steep hills. Under normal riding conditions, it's impossible.

@@ElectricUnicycles yes but it's exactly for hills that I am worried, like what happened the other day to lazyrolling Daniels late batch Sherman, I rode hills like that on the MSP but too scared to do it on the Sherman, some kind of alarm to catch it before it burns would be nice :)

does anyone else think there is a decimal point problem in euc worlds amp reading. 95volts at 100 amps would be 9500 watts of power draw, that means on a 2500 watt/hour battery you have roughly 15-20 minute run time. not meantion that even 12 awg wires would fry at that kind of power draw. it would make alot more since if that was a 10 amp draw being 950 watts of power use which would give you 2.5 hours of run time at that level .

Spoiled by suspension. V11 is still a work horse and far superior IMO. Each ride with the V11 gets better and better as you get accustom to controlling the suspension. It makes a world of a difference once you dial that in. Sherman just seems like a tank and thats pretty much it. Most, if not all of the people riding EUCs WILL NOT be going up dirts hills this steep. Thats why this test is really irrelevant to riders. Its more for the manufacture. Don't think the power and speed of that can out perform the overall pkg that the V11 is in the long run. So, I dont think the Sherman is on its same level. Maybe the toughest EUC on the planet, but that seems to be it.
@shield4004 жыл бұрын
Did you really come here just to say that you think the V11 is better? Not to mention underplay the Shermans ability conqering overheat hill and Marty's efforts and hard work? You say workhorse? The V11 with it's shoddy bearing, loud headlight fan, weak plastic saddle and a major suspension valve weakness. I think that is far from the definition of "workhorse". The S18 is at least the master of offroad and the Sherman king of speed and distance. I understand these wheels will all improve with time I think that's pretty obvious. While the V11 may do a bit of verything it will never be the master of anything.

@@shield400 One, I think Marty is doing kool stuff with his videos and I for one, appreciate the work he does. So no, I have nothing against what he's doing. However, YES, I definitely THINK the the V11 is, like I said, a better OVERALL wheel. Other than the issues with the saddle, that a lot of us have, it doesn't do anything to fault the experience of riding the wheel. I can ride just fine with that broken plastic screw. 2. I don't know where you are getting your info, but the other issues mentioned is something that has happened to 1 or 2 people. Not the lot of them. There is no major valve issue. Don't go by a pre-production model. smh I haven't had any issues and and only know of two people that went through that from the first batch. Also, I've been on the road and through gravel and dirt. I'm on 3 weeks with the V11 and have no other problems. No issues with bearings and I've ridden it twice in the rain already. One time, I got caught in HEAVY rain. Wheel is just fine. You don't even hear the fan. It seems you are just hating on something you don't own and go by the negativity that's out there. Negativity by people that don't own the wheel. V11 IS A GREAT WHEEL!

I just completed an 89-mile ride in the mountains, climbing over 8000-ft, with the Sherman.
