@@pleasestop3523 I watched this movie as a joke with my friends last night and was absolutely mortified by the whole electricity thing. we all understood it was a joke but we're all queer and I don't think we thought it was very funny. we ended up liking it more than we thought we would (cuz we didn't look much into it and thought it was actually taking itself seriously) but I still got really freaked out.

it hurts me to think of how mentally painful it must have been to feel such romantic passion towards a person that you've been taught not to love. this scene in the movie of both of them letting down their guards and admitting that they're in love with each other is so impactful to me because I can't even begin to imagine a world in which queer love would be forbidden, looked down upon, or illegal. the concept of having to choose between your passion for someone and the religious beliefs you've held for your entire life seems so morally wrong to me, it feels obvious that the choice shouldn't exist in the first place. people should be able to love whoever they like and believe in whatever they like, literally who gives a shit unless they're harming people directly?
