The station number is sometimes located on a plate on the side of the station, not on the top as it usually is. We have only seen this once so far, but it's good to know in advance. We had to search for it.

This is helpful, and I'll try to use this guidance when charging my new Ioniq 5 on a roadtrip. I have only charged twice from EA stations, but in those instances I had to tap my phone with the EA app over a spot under the tiny screen. Weird. I do think, nonetheless, that the process could be much easier, just plug-and-play. 3rd party DCFC providers need to simply and coordinate better.

1:49 - This is really helpful. Bookmarked! Just got my Ioniq 6, which comes with the free charging up to 30min. Does that free charging benefit automatically engage when you swipe? Or do I have to hit another secret button on the app? And I wasn't aware there are two pumps per station. 👍

This probably a dumb question but why are there two connectors per station? It seems that if Car A is using station 4 a Car B would not be able to us that second connector as well or can it?

Brain, thank you for asking, this is a great question actually. Since different cars have different locations for the charge ports, having two connectors provides the flexibility to use either one depending upon your charge port location. Since I solely charge my car on EA, I have witnessed all sorts of scenarios where sometimes people have to park their cars perpendicular to the outer most stall to get it connected due to the length of the wire. Sometimes, one connector works and the other doesn't. However, only one car can charge at one time per stall even though there are two connectors.

I just got a 2024. Something called "Digital Teal". It's pretty sick ... is an iridescent finish that sparkles & changes tone depending on light & angle. 👍

It is for my car because it's charging port is on the rear driver's side but other cars have different locations for the charging port so it may not be best for them. To be honest, I have seen people park their cars in many different ways depending upon the charging port location.

So, you don’t have to click on anything to utilize your 2 years free charging (Assuming you have already established your account)??. Once you are signed up, the app/charger assumes you want to use your free program?

You can set your EA free charging account as the default in your account. Once you do that, it’ll just default to that from then on without having to choose it.

Do you normally use the 150kw charger at EA? The ioniq 5 can charge up to 240kw, so why not use the 350?

Unfortunately, there is no 350 kw where I charge otherwise I will charge at 350 kw.

Depends. On ¢ per kWh rate (29¢, 43¢, 64¢, etc) or sometimes they charge so many ¢ per minute. At 43¢ per kWh & U put in 50kWh (65% of Ioniq 5 77kWh 🔋 pack aka ⚡ from 20% to 85% aka ~ 220 mi of range), you're looking at $21.50 OR... Free! what temps are the batteries getting to when you do DC fast charge?

During these days, they get to to 110F with climate control on. With climate control off, up to 105F. That's the highest I have seen on a 150 kw stall. I don't have a 350 kw near so I'm not sure about that one. After a 20 min charge, it takes about 30 mins for the battery to cool down below 100F.

I went with Veepeak OBDCHECK BLE one. Amazon had a sale on it. So far it is working very well. I have it plugged in to the car all the time. No issues

From my experience, it does not matter on or off, but when it is off, charge time is quicker.

The numbering system looks like it was designed by egg-head engineers (and not "normal" people using these things). Why put the stall numbers so high up and almost out of view of users??? And they didn't think to use "A" and "B" on each charger (instead of "1" and "2") to help avoid confusion??? eeeeee

@@PluggingRevolution It's still confusing. It's not obvious that only one connector at a time can be used (is that correct?) That's going to be a big disconnect from someone used to using a gasoline pump where each hose that looks the same is unique. And the labeling is very unfriendly and error-prone. I came here as a new Telsa owner that just acquired a CCS adapter to figure out how to use EA if needed. It seems like there's no one in charge the UX (user experience) here.
