I believe @ 6:10 the professor incorrectly labels the length of stub as "l2" and that is in disagreement with the component DEFINED BY his "wiring diagram." Meanwhile, the true L2 was described, seemingly appropriately, in the preceding minutes (@3:36) as the distance from load to stub attachment point. My allegation that @6:10 describes L1 is CONFUSED, however, by professor's commencement of CW arc from the "open circuit" (far right) point on the circumference of the impedance chart. Indeed, the proposed stub is a drawn @ 3:36 as a short circuit stub, not an open circuit stub. Ah! I get it: The chart suddenly became an admittance chart, not an impedance chart, and the rightmost point is indeed a SHORT CIRCUIT LOCUS for admittance considerations. I remain confused by the IMPEDANCE chart is used, ... with little explanation when this chart suddenly becomes an ADMITTANCE chart... (flipped right to left). There is, indeed, a proper ADMITTANCE SMITH CHART (rarely used in practice, it seems) which is the mirror image (left to right) of the IMPEDANCE SMITH CHART.

I agree. He should be using the admittance chart to show this example, as he uses parallel stub matching. Even if it is an admittance chart, the short circuit is still on far left hand side, because the stub termination is a wire, and hence short circuit. So on admittance chart, I think this should be on far left side.

Good video. It was helpful BUT could you do one without Smith Chart? Most youtuber's use Smith Chart. In exams in Canada there is no use of Smith Chart allowed. Would love to see solved long hand example solved by tutorial without use of Smith Chart. Thank you, you are a good instructor.

it is good ,just tell in beginning that it is a shunt single stub matching.as there are two type series and shunt .

Shouldn't he be drawing/pointing to the short circuit point on far left hand side instead of far right hand side. The short circuit termination of the single stub will be on far left hand side?
