It's good, I love his teaching. I been in 1 knife fight, a botched robbery. Very sad, I got stabbed right through my hand and didn't know it and I stabbed the guy in the neck. All I did was trap his arm but if I hadn't trained in FMA and some Silat I am sure I would have been hurt much worse. I went to hospital for my hand...the other man died. Knife fight is no joke, life is gone in a fraction of a second. You can have serious injury and not even feel it. Thanks to god my hand is healed. But if people doubt the utility of this training, think again. It saved my life. I never look at this thing the same again.

Very good. Knife fighting techniques from a man FROM A KNIFE CULTURE. All the clowns talking about the parner moving slow or unrealistic are morons.TO TRAIN YOU NEED A REFERENCE POINT! TO TRAIN YOU NEED A "COOPERATIVE "PARTNER AT FIRST!!! The training gets more real and "alive"after you get better! ! The military doesn't just throw a gun in your hand first day and shoot live rounds at you!;There is a PROCESS AND PROGRESSION TO EVERYTHING IF YOU ARE PLANNING TO BE GOOD AT SOMETHING(driving,screwing, guns and knifes).As for the comments of "nobody moves like that",look around KZbin, look at the knife attacks, many people DO MOVE LIKE THAT BUT YOU CAN'T SEEIT BECAUSE YOUR not skilled and only see "flurries",just like a newby sparring first few months;you DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU SEE BECAUSE YOU DON'T KNOW ANYTHING YET.

Oh yeah, if you search ‘silat' on Google,KZbin or other online platforms,the will only show the most basic ones that were uploaded.The truth is silat have many secret that either passed down from generations or has gone...some of it is ‘tarikan tenaga' which is they control their breathing to harden their body.this may only learnd by student that show great performance...they are also teachnque that make you able to make force like shild around your self that makes the opponent can't reach you...this might be nonsense but it is true...and no I don't have evidence to show...

@Jim Hane but in silat when i was in high school in malaysia everyday after school (highschool silat club) i saw the students already training using real machete and knifes... high school students and a senior hold a punching bag to the stomach of the students laying down, to strengthen the middle area. to the western world this might be harsh but to us this is silat.

all "pe silat", during the last test, must have used sharp weapons, knive, blade or spear. in olden day, our tradition silat kuntau bangkuy, one of the silat tests ... sat on a circle with a diameter of 1 meter, then was attacked by several people using a spear and blade, had be able to deflect or dodge attacks, dont stand or get out from the circle.

those are called large frame movements. They train a longer and more exaggerated frame and chamber to give them training cues about telegraphing strikes, shoulder and hip position that way they learn to notice patterns even when the movements are tightened up
@RafikSamman6 жыл бұрын
Under stress movements are always tight so training exaggerated movement helps in recognizing the cues and effectively exe cutting proper technique.
@ryanmah946 жыл бұрын
Most real life knife fights are not sword fights. It's one to three strikes that will end the fight. In that instance, the big swings are to resemble power/fatal strikes. Plus, when training, the defender can easily train his brain to calculate the visual cues (AKA shoulder positions, foot stance, elbow positions, etc.).

You forgot one thing or maybe two. Martial art is combatan body. Didnt mean you may win almost of the time. But it giving you chance to fightback. Even in real fight. I would sure 100% even if thw knife wilder is more agile and faster. He still could be shocked by counter style of Silat. And if you watching other his video or listen it carefully. He always say. The first hard hit is very importan. So in real situation. You may have to intent to kill the knife willder as well. No matter how fast or agile. Just slip one and strike on vital point with deadly Silat technique and boom. The fight end in one second
