@@mochiisntbad6762 from the same experience definitely not, when you get down the basics for electronics and you understand how circuits work, some things are very obvious; he is past the level of making critical mistakes; when he says "I want to do this new thing" he means "let's learn about this" cause he probably spent ages learning how it works before. I tend to agree tho, it's hard to see at first the irony when he blows stuff up, it's usually a simple short circuit or some hidden capacitor. :D

Such an intelligent person, quite the actor, and, based on his one music video, quite the signer as well! It's great how he predicts what would likely be common problems during the whole thing and already knows the solution to the problem, yet sacrifices time, pain, and materials to example the problem in order to show what not to do before going through why it's wrong and presenting a workable solution, all while keeping the humor value. It's smart edutainment, for sure, and I absolutely adore it. I've spent so many hours watching this man's content and have learned far more about electricity than I ever thought I would. I have seen a LOT of your videos; but this was by far the best one yet! It was special because it was so much more educational than the rest. You have a special gift that allows you to break a complicated circuit down to it's most basic elements. Explaining the basic foundation, how that works, and then 'grow' that basic design step by step, so everyone can watch the evolution of that basic circuit into the completed project. And you did it in just enough detail to be able to teach without overwhelming anyone in the process. Transitioning from the bi-stable to astable, to Royer quickly and seamlessly... As a 75 year old former Bell Labs design engineer and college electronics instructor, I tip my hat to you. You have a rare gift and you should continue to expand on it!

I was 14 then (22 now) and let me tell you, he has always found a way to peak my interest in electricity and engineering. I work on an ambulance so electricity only concerns me when trying to defibrillate someone but still I keep coming back. That is the definition of a true teacher. Someone who makes learning fun. @Dennis W - Most UPS units don’t isolate you from the mains at all when plugged in. Only the double conversion ones do that AFAIK, line interactive or the most basic ones simply pass the mains through via relays. I thought I’d better point that out in case anyone got the wrong idea. Of course, running on battery is the same as being mains isolated, lol!

The heavy duty ones usually use copper tubing for the induction coil, then they run coolant through the tubing to stop it melting. But on the other hand that's at a bit different current rating. Models for heating up and straightening truck axles, for example, often push like a 1000 amps through the coil, which concentrate the heat onto a few square centimeters.

It’s not magic, it’s called induction. When the comment is first entered, KZbin resists the flow of time, but quickly gives in and allows the comment to pass into existence. But as soon as the transfer of information is over, KZbin again resists this change in the flow of time, overcompensating and shooting the comment further back in time than the point at which it was entered. Simple science.

Well done. Not many people I meet encourage learning this way. Especially here where I live (USA). They over emphasize the use of oscilloscopes and other fancy machines and almost make it seem as if answers are unattainable without them. Most scientists I admire (not worship) were those of the past. Who had to find answers with nothing of the sort; with only the incandescent glow of candlelight and early styled bulbs to illuminate the dark and provide them with the sight needed to see the pages in which their pencils wrote; trying to figure out this planet. I can’t begin to imagine the frustrations!!!! Thanks a ton for doing these videos.
