Great review as always Eilis, I'm glad to see more e-bike manufacturers using the Gates carbon belt drive, it's so buttery smooth when cycling, also, coupled by less maintenance and no more oil stained clothing. The lack of the standard rear derailleur is a blessing also, these old, tired and cumbersome drive units may have their place for certain bikes/e-bikes, however, it's very welcoming to see more and more commuting e-bikes with a single speed drivetrain. Also, have noticed many of the commuting e-bike are slowly coming down in price, making it attractive to first time e-bikers.

These are lot of bikes with same frame n formula. It’s a practical bike with no nonsense attitude. Used similar one from another brand . I found only two complaints 1/ one was weight of bike , but ebikes are heavy due to battery n motor . 2/ Though these come with Samsung or good brand Batteries the chargers are not branded. Apart from this , these types of bikes are fantastic bikes to ride . Pitty that these are speed restricted 25 kmph ;seems quite slow while riding . But it is what it is.

I wish they would make a version of the 600 with removable battery and suspension that weighs not much more. I like the look of the 800S but that weight puts me off as I live in a flat. I currently have an old Voodoo Marasa Hybrid which is a little over 13KG and hate lugging it upstairs but it's not a backbreaking experience for sure. Something between 15-17GB for an e-bike like this would be a decent balance. The other alternative is a folding bike but I am looking at 20-30 miles in and out of London.
@SteveL112 жыл бұрын
I hate these e-bike companies' tactics, they always started off with a really good initial pricing for good reviews and then immediately raised the price the moment it is actually up for sale. Almost every "affordable" e-bikes company does this: "Hey kids, wanna see this really cool ebike for $1200? You liked it? Oh it's actually $1500, you just missed out on our awesome deal like 1 second ago"

You get a lot of bike for that price, definitely worth it. The thing with ebikes is just the weight. For a £1800 bike I would want to keep it inside my place and if you got plenty of stairs to climb you’re definitely going to have a good and awkward workout. Another issue with some of these funky designed bike with inter grated screens what if you need to replace that part? Won’t be readily available in bike shops and how easy will it be to get them. Still a great looking bike and a great purchase.

It's perfect for me so I'm really excited. I was so close to purchasing the 600 but then I held off when I saw they had a step through model coming. I decided to hold off and I placed my order just a few minutes after it became available. I've seen plenty of comments about the price but I guess that's just what the ebike market is right now. I couldn't find anything close to this price with the features it offers outside of DIY.

Eilis riding a bike always makes me happy, as she seems to be enjoying herself so much. I think they've ticked quite a few boxes: however, the hydro brakes look to be cheaper Tektro ones so expect to change the (quite cheesy) pads for something better such as Kool-Stop or SwissStop quite soon after riding in a bit of wet, and for them to get a bit difficult to maintain as they get older (from previous experience with Tektro hydros).. I'd have a careful look at the spoke tension on the rear wheel in particular: their wheelbuilding QC needs to be just that little bit better with an extra 250W pushing it around. The rims look to be soft alu cheese (definitely not tubeless compatible), and long spoke nipples are a bit of a giveaway as to lower-than-average build quality. Those cheaper-than-average extremely short travel Suntour forks are heavy and spring rate/damping (if any) will be pretty basic. The velcro straps: it seems to be a thing lots of bike companies are using. I built several bikes not long ago (Giant) and they came with them. very useful for small tasks around the place. I think for 1.8K squid they're having a bit of a lend with this component spec.
@joules5312 жыл бұрын
That is what I thought. For what is quite an expensive machine, the components look cheap, and maintenance costs will start to mount up, especially with those brakes and wheels.

Funny how we see things differently. Having just paid £5,500 for my Riese and Muller Nevo (which in terms of looks this bike is a carbon copy of) I thought £1,800 was incredible value- esp. with a carbon gate belt. It just goes to show.....
@joules5312 жыл бұрын
@@markbudd5250 in terms of looks? You mean from a distance? The Nevo is built to last, whereas this bike has been designed down to a cost that makes the £1800 tag surprising. Look at the pedals, the grips, that chainset, those lights, the wheels, those brakes, the tyres, the forks, the saddle, the rack... I could go on, but my point is that just because two bikes have a similar shape (which you say are "carbon copies" of each other, lol) doesn't means that they are the same quality. As you succinctly put it, it just goes to show.....
@markbudd52502 жыл бұрын
@@joules531 You a have obviously done your research on this bike Joules. I'm not an advocate of this brand and have not ridden it- but getting a price point of £1,800 with a gates belt drive seems pretty competitive . I agree with your point about quality though compared to a Nevo....

I think it was about halfway through that I realised I was basically watching an advert. Then when there was the price reveal at the end, I suddenly realised that was what was happening! It was a good review with a lot of detail although a little too gushy for my liking, I mean really "a beautiful panier rack at the back" - come on. My Pilen push bike has a panier rack on the back that could be considered far more lovely than that. Anyway it left me feeling like I needed to be more careful about interpreting the review and applying a critical eye of my own... nothing is perfect and when you never say anything negative about a product, it sets off the alarm bells.

We purchased this Vivi 27.5” electric bike and a Tentaquil 26” electric bike for our 13 and 14 year olds. kzbin.infoUgkxUiL0GnyDjP32RJdd660sP8mZk4CRLTCJ The Vivi was much easier to put together. With the Vivi, there was a video link to assist with assembly which made the process easier to follow (we did put the handlebars on upside down, but it was a quick and easy fix). With the Tentaquil, the assembly was not as simple to follow, but after we messaged the company for an assembly video, it was easier and they did respond quickly. The other major differences were that the Vivi has a grip throttle on the right handle (like a motorcycle) and the Tentaquil has a push throttle that you use your thumb to activate. The monitors were also different, so if you’re looking for something specific in terms of changing the bikes functions, pay attention to what the monitor offers. We were really impressed with the overall quality and functionality of both bikes, but if you’re looking for more power and an easier assembly, definitely go with the Vivi!
