Yes love these original Electrolux upright vacuum cleaners. The new ones are over a thousand dollars. We have to preserve the original ones

Hi Neil, I do feel its important to keep the history alive as it was a part of daily life that people took for granted, but when they see these old machines do bring back many memories of loved ones no longer with us. I know, because they do for me. Thank you for your lovely message my friend.

One of the things I lilke about the 500 series is the paper bags are very easy to empty & change, probably the easiest of any paper bag upright. And the performance of your 504 in this vid is very impressive. :-)

Richard Brooke -Thanks Richard, they are pretty awesome. My Electrolux Sanitaire is like a 500 series on steroids, it's absolutely amazing. A modern vac with the ease of the 500. I will do a vid on it. I love it.

I have just got one of these same cleaners. How did you manage to get it clean? Did you take it apart? I am a bit nervous about taking the thing to pieces but the inside bit where the bag goes was in the same condition as yours (pre clean), so any tips would help :-)

Jason Lightoller Hi Jason, so sorry for delay in replying. I just used a lot of wipes out with a damp cloth and I took the base plate off, I have taken one apart to the motor and it can be a bit confusing, I took pics every time I took something off so I could see where it went to put in back. After the first time it got easier.
