This helped so much! My wife removed the lint trap and forgot to put it back in when she put the clothes in to dry. A sock got caught in the blower assembly and this video was extremely helpful in getting things fixed.

Excellent step-by-step video. My front panel was stuck to the bulkhead and didn't lift away as easy as the video showed. The factory used too much glue for the door seal on the front panel. Excess glue leaked onto the bulkhead and glued the front panel to the bulkhead. I thought there was another screw I was missing. After some force it came apart. Also watch which screws you remove for the control panel. Take out the ones into the side panels and not the ones thru the panel's plastic feet.

Great video! Highlights all the crucial steps 👌 I usually try and do all my own repairs and that's why I'm here. My dryer is making a loud almost whining or humming sound when it is first started, then after about a minute it will suddenly clear up. I can tell it's coming from the blower area, but my first impression was that the motor has a bad field winding or something. Or possibly that it was staying stuck in a start phase somehow. But at least thanks to this video I won't have too much trouble digging into it 😊

Great video thank you. I had an issue removing the front panel, it had glue between the front panel and the front bulkhead at the door hinges. This slowed the process of a ten minute repair into an hour of frustration. The blower’s impeller had come loose from nut and had to be cut apart to remove the nut. I hope this will help some other Do it yourselfer.

Wow this video helped out. Had a professional in to look at our dryer. Said he had 27 years experience but didn't know what was making the noise. Hey offended when I started asking question. Even told my wife he wasn't used to being watched while working. Really????? Sorry pal my house. This clown will not be coming back. Thanks to this video I will effect the repair myself. Too bad guys like the one who visited my house are on the loose.

Great video, thank you! The only issue we ran into was the front panel stuck pretty bad and was difficult to get off. I think there was some glue involved as other people have reported. Also the blower wheel was difficult to unthread.

So mine was making a knocking noise when using with large loads. I noticed no air coming out of vent outside Shut it down and tore it apart. Noticed my blower fan was wobbly and the 7/8 hex plastic encasement was cracked in several spots causing it to not be secured and separated from the knurled shaft it was embossed onto. A little glue from the factory probably would have prevented this from happening. I’m ordering a new one but in the meantime I took the motor and blower assembly out as a unit. Separated the blower Fan from the shaft without damaging it by using some penetrating oil and loosening the shaft then shaking the blower from the motor with the motor hanging down towards the floor and my hands on the plastic Blower fan. I laid down a thick blanket and shook the motor to jar it’s weight downward with each thrust to separate the blower fan from the knurled bushing it’s was attached to…barely. I once apart I cleaned all the debris out, lined up the blower into the shaft, applied some epoxy and held the plastic hex onto the knurled shaft tightly with two spring clamps I removed from an old dishwasher hose. I attached the blower with the original nut but used a washer to keep the plastic hex from walking off of the knurled shaft. Works like a champ but I’m ordering a new one because this is just a temp fix to keep it working until I can get a new one.

THANKS! I saw another video that told us how to access the blower to remove all the lint, but my front panel is not coming loose at all. Any advice as to how to access the blower so that we CAN remove the lint before we buy these new parts? Thanks!

The front doesn't just pop off like that... be prepared to get ruff with it as it glues itself together over time... Also get ready for the metal nut to strip out the plastic fan, you will need to used a hammer and punch to break the plastic apart enough to get the motor out. Such fun!!

Can you open up the housing and replace only the fan. The difference between $35 and $105.

@@repairclinic How do you use the channel lock pliers on the motor without tearing it up? Are you holding onto the part of the shaft just inside the area where the belt goes or are you holding onto the threaded pet where the belt goes? Using the first method, I can’t grip it tight enough to keep it from spinning when I use the socket. Using the second method, I tear up the metal and have to file down rough edges so that the belt doesn’t get ripped up.
