Electrolytic Capacitor Replacement Guide | Re-Caps Made Easy

In this video, we will show you how to replace both types of electrolytic capacitors; "Surface Mount" and "Through-Hole". This process requires a bit of soldering knowledge. Please exercise safety when working with electrolytic capacitors. Applying too much heat can cause these components to EXPLODE. Always wear eye protection and hand protection when performing this type of work!

I would never do this.. the opposing leg is flat soldered down to the pad. lifting one side is literally like prying the pad off the opposing leg. Get the proper equipment... soldering tweezers if you want to do this.. heat both legs simultaneously.

FYI - The Blue Yeti's is a side-address microphone, so you should speak into the front of the mic, not the top. The side with the buttons is the back of the mic, so you'll get much better audio if you move the mic directly in front of you, then tilt the mic body 90 degrees away from you, so the front of the mic is pointed toward up you mouth.

1:06 You mentioned: or slightly exceed the original capacitance. Is that a good idea? I've replaced caps in the past that are higher voltage than the original cap but they have always been the same capacitance level.

I also don't understand why he said that. A higher voltage rating is fine (as long as it still fits) but you should match the capacitance.

Never change the capacitance and never go lower on voltage and you will never have an issue.

Seems like you may be the right guy to ask! I have the viofio t130 3 channel cameras in my truck I have the power input hardwired correctly to the fuse box I don't want to put any wear on my auto battery so been looking to install a powercell 8 at 400$ Question is could I use a capacitor in between and get the same result cheaper
