This magnetic holder would be a nice extension of the well known Wabeco drill stand. Impressive metal maker skills! Another nice addon would be a protection screen to prevent metal sparks flying around. Keep up the good work!

Very good. I have two suggestions, embed a piece of PVC pipe between the magnets so that swarf can drop though into the tray below. Use PVC so that the fields of the electromagnets are not impaired. (You will of course need to drill a hole in the table below the magnet assembly). A vice bolted to a suitable sized plate for the magnet assembly, will help hold smaller or awkward parts.

If you had cut two holes in the back of the magnet box, placed it face down onto a sheet of glass, then poured in the resin, through the holes, you would have had a perfectly flat surface, without all the grinding and filing.😊 However, excellent job! 10 points!😉 .

Хорошая решение, но не нужно сворачивать провод кольцами. Создаётся магнитное поле которое приводит к потере напряжения и тем самым повышению силы тока. Проще говоря провода будут плавить изоляцию. Лайк однозначно.

Now that was a great build by a competent mechanic. The attention to functional detail was easily apparent throughout the presentation. A clean no frills design. Your welding and fabrication skills are impressive. Is there a way to make it portable like the Milwaukee mag-drill? One that would grip a beam or something and drill a hole in it. I would love to build my own mag-drill.

Great Video and Great Idea. Only thing I was sad to see was you didn't use a spacer block above the magnet to keep from drilling into the epoxy right at the end. Only my idea but I would use a 1/2 or 3/4 plate the same size as my mag base with a 2" hole in the center. With a 1/4" base plate on it with brackets to screw it to the mag base. That way you have a steel spacer 1 inch above the magnet that will still hold your work, and give you have a gap below your work, with a backstop to catch the drill if you don't stop in time. Hope all works out for you. Again great Video.
