I love this channel because I can always come on here and there is no drama of any sort, no face trying to promote themselves, just someone dedicated to the advancement of scientific knowledge sharing that desire with the world. It's like a breath of fresh air, to be cliche.

I enjoy the lay concept of microwaves. I just want to see a 'set-up' like in 'Man with the Golden Gun'... where sunlight is transformed into microwaves and stored as electricity in several cauldrons of liquid helium! Are superconducting storage batteries feasible? I'd be happy if you could store it all up into compressed liquid hydrogen... an inexhaustible fuel cell system? Gas qualification has problems, but beaming energy hasn't been demonstrated as competitive to wire transmission or

a comeback. Matter of fact, there was a flirtation with hypersonic underground electromagnetic rail levitation in the 80s.... trains that could move megatons of freight and people with costs competitive with town buses... from New York to Phoenix in 54 minutes? Amazing how we just kind of backed off and pinnacled our technology on data processing and telecommunications? Maybe we need to start having some optimism & have great dreams again.

commercial electrical generators. But potentially with generation & transmission simplified, you can create a useful market for these resources. No greenhouse gases or carbon particulates or radioactive fuel rod disposal needed. Microwave power seems to have broader applications in Space development? Gigantic orbital solar stacks absorbing raw sunshine and making beams that can be re-attenuated on the Earth's surface as electricity! Could you imagine a power bill of $3 a year? Trains could make

No, they are not. They're simply a different color of light that your eyes can't see. As with all light, it is massless, isn't a physical object that occupies space, and travels at the speed of light.

I just watched a "how a microwave oven works" and they say its a been of electrons. So I am confused. Microwaves are electromagnetic waves, and a microwave is just a electron bath?
@uturniaphobic6 жыл бұрын
R Bain Microwave ovens work by transmitting microwaves onto the food. It is set at a specific frequency that excites water molecules in the food which in turn heats all the food. I think you could call this microwave a beam of electrons and still be right. As in light waves vs photons is it a wave or is it a particle or both?

@GnosticNinja I think sticking a puppy in a microwave to dry it off after a bath from a senile woman in the 1970's already was enough. @purpleleach1 Nothing has disproved the Big Bang theory yet, therefore it can't be said it never happened no matter how much faith you have in it. As more discoveries agree with the current theory, it will be greatly accepted. Remember that gravity is just a theory too but nothing has disproved so we use it as the only explanation for gravity.

the only reason that religions exist is because the people din't know what was behind the making of the Earth and the universe now we do (we think we do). they thought something up high did it, and made wonderful story's about it. they just could't explain what happened when an earthquake occurred (or a other neutral disaster)

@gtarrant2 The point of government well in a democracy at lease is very simply a tool for people to decided how to spend there money to better society. We have a big government in american because over the last 100 years that is what the vast majority of people have wanted/allowed. If your so un-happy with it in America then you can get involved. If you have a good message that other people in your community like you will be elected and have power to change it.

@CyberNeticRodent Those very laws violate the very first thought those that wrote our bil of rights intended to be the more important of them all. The biased past courts decided the plural statement shall become a singular statement. 'Law makers shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion' encompasses much more than just a gov-church. It was compiled in the 80s, the fedRes would have a surplus if 10% was tithed from religions. No income tax could be justified if we did that.
