Wow. If my teachers had just explained it as a current like you just did I would have understood where the equations came from. Thank you

8:10. Why without external B, L = sqrt(l*(l+1)) * h but Lz = ml * h after adding an external B field?
@小江-j1i5 жыл бұрын
No, the mu won’t line up in the direction of B. The torque will cause the angular momentum to change, causes procession.

As it orbitts the path a magnetic dipole moment generates and trying to neutralize the effect the electron produces a current in opposite direction of conducting current.
@cliffordwilliams95975 жыл бұрын
So the magnetic dipole created by the orbit of the electron orients the electrons spin in the same direction? Do both the atom and the electron both have a magnetic dipole moment, or just the electron?????
@Jarrod_C6 жыл бұрын
It would have been nice if you gave us the implications or applications of this or the why this is important and the bigger picture...

Wished my teacher would have explained like u during my high school...i mean my concepts would have been way better thanks

I think you might wrong about Lz. L never parallel to B since it quantized. Lz is the magnitude of L with respecto the B direction.

thanks sir, the concept was almost clear. but i was expecting the idea behind spin and orbital motion for origination of magnetic dipole moment.

at 9:51 you said that when we place the atom in the electric field, I think you wanted to say magnetic field. Please correct me if I am wrong.

okay... when you start talking about spinning electrons at 7:10... are you still referring to an electron orbiting around a nucleus, or literally spinning about its axis? please be clear because they are 2 different things
@seanki986 жыл бұрын
orbiting a nucleus. Otherwise, it would not have a magnetic moment.

Hey! Yes it is! You should register! We'll be adding new stuff as we go along but at this point its all ready for use!

actually the site is not working and every time I open the page it gives me ,some simples .
@AKLECTURES10 жыл бұрын
your browser might have saved the old site and now that the new one is up, you might just need to refresh the page for it to work.
@recall66010 жыл бұрын
yes I did register ,but when I click on classical physics as example ,I don't see any videos
@AKLECTURES10 жыл бұрын
well you have to click classical physics, then choose the chapter within physics, for example "kinematics".. then you choose the playlist, lets say "vectors and scalars" and then you choose the lecture. try it and see if that works.
