Excellent! Question: does the actuator only have two speeds! “Idle n load?” Or does it match the load 1 to 1 ? Larry

Actuators will settle at pre set minimum speed setting in case of control supply failure. An actuator does not act as a governor, there should be an governor controller (in most case an electronic one) which is having load limiting function incorporated...🙂

How to change over from direct mode to rpm mode

Depending on the propulsion control system, there will be a selector switch (either soft or hard), to change the control mode....between direct/ rpm/ sea mode/ constant fuel/ etc..
