u1407, u1424, u1425 how to fix.
I was getting these fault codes and the compass was going into limp mode. This applies to the 2.4L Jeep Compass, Jeep Patriot, and Dodge Avenger.

Thank you so much for posting this video. The throttle body went out of my Wife’s 2014 avenger last week, which has the same throttle body as yours. I took it to my local stealership and they wanted $1400 to fix it. After watching your video I told the stealership to suck it! I then Went to autozone, bought the part for $200 and changed it myself in 30 minutes. 🙏🏼. Thank you again, you saved me $1200.

The best tutorial by far. I just replaced my throttle body in my 2011 Jeep Patriot. This was an ongoing problem for almost a year. The engine light finally came on and I ended up limp driving to Auto zone and I got those codes. Ordered the throttle body and gasket from Amazon the next day and got my car running like new again. Thanks so much. The trick with the radiator hose worked.

Good video. At 04:39, you can see the tab that connects the sensor wire to the hose. I couldn't get it loose, so I left my sensor attached until I unbolted the throttle body. The battery comes out on a minute. If you have big hands, it makes it easier.

I just wanted to say thanks man this really really helped me out. I had the same exact fault codes on my Jeep Patriot and I didn't know what to do. So congrats on a really good video it's short to the point and best of all you can hear the audio. That trick with moving the radiator hose out of the way that was great too. Got mine fixed in no time just had a little debris blocking my throttle body intake valve. Cleaned it up a little bit with some alcohol is all good after that

Thanks for the advice! I did not have to have an angle extension on a 2010 Jeep Patriot and got lucky. With the part only being $64 from amazon this was a cheap fix.

Yes this is important for a vehicle with a CVT transmission also. Jeep patriot has 1 buried underneath the battery section right beside the starter which is underneath the engine

Crankshaft position sensors are also a big problem on these, but easy to change.

Just wanted to say thank you for your accurate and informative video. Had the same problem with my 2010 jeep patriot. Contacted the dealership and quoted me 1200 for the part and 300 for labor. Lucky I decided to search KZbin and found your video. Bought the throttle body from ebay which cost me 80 bucks and installed it myself. Only question is when I took the old throttle body out, I found a little bit of oil inside the line that connects the throttle body to. Is this normal? Anyways, the car is running great so far after I installed the new throttle. You saved me $1400 . THANKS AGAIN.

Question, I have a 2011 Jeep compass 4x4. When I completely fuel my Jeep, it stalls when I top it off. Only when I fuel completely it stalls. Then to get it started I put egnition two clicks and put it in neutral then that's how I start my Jeep up again.

My warning light come on in my Jeep Compass 2012 after about 5 to 6 miles everytime, and then it goes into limp mode, it will still go around 70mph but it limits the rpm at each gear change. Once I turn off the engine and at each new journey the fault starts again!!!! Suggestions please

Just take some throttle body cleaner and clean it most of the time it fixed the limo mode problem and the problem your having

That is a viable option. In this case the customer (my wife) wanted the car fixed right the first time. I ordered the part and had it in hand before starting the job so might as well go through with a full replacement. YMMV. Cheers!

Great video, thanks! I was able to replace the throttle body without too much trouble, but unable to reset the ECU. I turn the key to the start position, but the ECU light never goes out, no matter how long I wait. Is there a way around this?

@@michaeldove1582 I gave up and brought it to the dealership. My problem was (I think) that I hadn't clipped in the bottom sensor properly; the plastic clip actually sort of broke when I removed it. That may help solve your problem.
