finally understood the reason for adding capacitor to a fan. I had a confusion that capacitor can only store charge in DC but the fan motor is in AC, then what it is the use of the capacitor

Capacitors will allow AC and block DC. In AC, storing is not possible but some amount of ac charge will be stored as a reactive power.

Sir one dought . if you clear my dought pls.. Sir IPO single phase induction motor la two capacitor use pannranga illaya. One is starting capacitor value is high MFD but. Running capacitor value is low MFD why explain this....... And iam increase the running capacitor value panna motor speed increase aaguma. Sollunga sir

That's what rotating magnetic field. For that purpose only we are changing the phase of sine wave with capacitor.

Your motor(coil) is an inductor itself. How will the phase shift happen if you connect one inductor on another? So it is good to connect capacitor or resistor (in few cases) to produce a phase shift.

@@senapathy7219 Yes. In certain cases they are using resistors and in that , they are changing the phase by the resistance changing the current but inductor does not allow the changes in current.

That is not self start. For example , some generators need manual start to initiate the rotation.
