Nice work! I’m sure many appreciate your keeping it so simple. We restore statues for a living and have created similar molds, but we make them out of wood for reuse. Really appreciate your video! 👍

Thank you for the great video. Could you kindly share how to fix a too thin broken piece to insert a nail in it? 🙏🏻👍👏

Thanks, you answered a question that I had been pondering! Now once I complete the repair, I'd like to seal my plaster piece to use outdoors in my moss garden, so it's water resistant or even waterproof. How would you do this?

Hello Erin. Once the repair is complete, fully dry, sanded smooth and dusted off, you can apply a non-yellowing sealer. Thanks for watching! amzn.to/3of7fDq (Affiliate Link)

Hi and thank you!! My table base has three levels at the bottom (like steps kind of,) and I’m wondering, would I need to do each level separately? I am no sculptor and have zero artistic abilities, so I can’t imagine trying to “sculpt out” the levels myself. Any help would be greatly appreciated cause I Love my kitchen table set and the thought of having to go a different route is killing me!! Thanks tons!!

Do you know how I would repair a smaller cracked plaster wall decoration? I was pulling it out of the mold and it broke in 3 places 😭

The cardboard mould is a great idea. I was wondering why or how it came easily away from the dried mixture. Especially considering there is glue in it. Did you prepare the cardboard surface in anyway?
@electronicsNmore3 жыл бұрын
I didn't use any glue.

@@electronicsNmore I was sure you said you made a mixture with white glue, no?

I actually have this exact situation. Have you ever put a glossy primer (white? clear?) spray paint over it to make it shiny (indoor)? Or do you have any tips that would work? I have a plaster column a customer wanted me to glaze fire, but obviously cant do that.
@electronicsNmore2 жыл бұрын
No. I left it as is.

A concret bitt grinds the material out of the way. a twist drill can make brittle materials crumble. Drill slowly. An electric toothbrush or one of your ladies toys rubbed and tapped on the tin mold will help remove air pockets and settle material into the holes.

The twist drill works just fine with plaster. I never had the plaster crumble. Any vibration method is a great idea. Thanks for watching!

Does it stay white or does it darken as plaster on plaster does? I am trying to repair a hole in plaster sculpture but want it to be as white as the plaster is

Remains white.
