Dear, Sorin. Thank you for your video. You fixed the laptop, please dont be sorry. I would like you to fix these kind of laptops, please get an io chip programmer and also make videos about it. I know that you dont have time like that kind of fixing but maybe you can find time. Also about calculating the pin of io chip you can calculate by white lines. Short ones, located by every 5 pins and long ones, located by every 10 pins. Best regards from Turkey.

Actually, there is somewhere ic (like TPS51285A) that gives 3.3 regulated (without a coil) for the startup chip and when it boots then it will give 5V regulated and 3.3 and 5 through the mosfets and coils. That is why You can't find it at coils. In these situations better to have schematics :)
@sergiuirimie77745 жыл бұрын
Hello Sorin . The bios chip is not inside in the Super I/O chip. Very few Motherboard are like that. If you look closer you can see the bios chip in the right of the second memory ram . It looks like a usual mosfet , but bigger ( Usually they are from "winbond" with a memory of 2Mb,4Mb,8Mb, 16Mb or 32Mb. In the Super I/O chip most of the time is the KBC that could also be corrupt. If the KBC is corrupt there is another way to write the KBC or Super I/O chips with o programmer which comes inside of the keyboard port, If the bios is corrupt you can erase the chip and write another bios, but must be in format ".bin or .rom " usually i get them free from @t. I bought a programmer on usb and repaired some motherboards.Most of the motherboards with the bios chip corrupt power on, but no image, or restart quickly, and some didn't power at all.

@zmarosi25 жыл бұрын

@intellifix5 жыл бұрын
M Zed I think same think but I’m not sure. So I ask to Sorin or someone who knows
@dawayneplumb79665 жыл бұрын
Since the BIOS is included on this chip, it is possible to be repaired if you took one from the EXACT same motherboard. Or you could replace this chip with a new one but the new one would have to be flashed programed with the VERY SPECIFIC BIOS first before installing. Sorin explained this in his video. He does not have the equipment to flash the BIOS himself and where could you get the EXACT same board that you could count on to be working? You could go on eBay and spend money on a board that might have the same exact problem. It just isn't worth it sometimes. I hope this helps. Regards.
@intellifix5 жыл бұрын
Dawayne Plumb Yes I agree, but the question is how you can recognize super I/O chip with inside bios from old one. Probably because bios chip is not present
@dawayneplumb79665 жыл бұрын
@@intellifix If there is no other BIOS chip on the board, that would be a hint. I suppose you could look up the number on the super I/O chip and the specs would probably tell you the BIOS is integrated.

Sorin, You tryed your best, it would cost too much to buy an identical pcb with a good chip. Not worth it!. The problem with the super io chips is the pins are defined by the code loaded into the chip, so only the power and switch on pins are the same on every use of the chip. Most of the pins are code function programmed :-(.
