Hey dear Sorin, I'm an IT technician don't worry, I'm not going to send you a device to fix, I fix it myself. But I'm sending you my brotherly hugs for sharing your knowledge and showing people about oddities of business and being ultimately sincere and intimate 😊
@raventhornicus15372 жыл бұрын
Sorin, you are a wonderful fountain of knowledge and insight. These unedited videos where you go through all of your troubleshooting steps, the repair steps, and coming up with ideas on the spot makes me really admire you, both as a talented repairman, and as a true and honest person. If I could travel from South Africa to give you a hug - and not to deliver a broken laptop for repair - I absolutely would. I wish you all the best, and I hope you keep making such frequent and interesting content. You truly are one of the greatest technicians. Much respect Sir!

hello Sorin. because you don't edit movies I love watching you and I really liked you as a person. by showing such a complete recording, you prove your have knowledge and experience acquired over many years of your work. you can disassemble any laptop and repair it in less than an hour, you are a real professional and even when you show dodgy work, you prove that you know what you are doing and at the same time teach how something works and what you can do. I hope that someday I will be in England and I will be able to shake your hand and take a souvenir photo. I think and believe you are the best on YT in terms of your knowledge of electronics and what you do in front of the camera.

First great video and appreciate you sharing your knowledge I think it has solved a mystery for me with same brand different model and power connecter module. The center pin had got so hot the solder had melted and I could not get it resolder properly, I made a new pin out of solid copper wire and a longer leg to hold solder under the board. Worked fine for a while but still got really hot and I resoldered a few times but eventually gave up. I will try again looking for a short first. BTW. My experience shows that + center pin will come loose if not anchored to the board, epoxy might have been better than hot glue.

Hi Sorin, thank you for your content! I trying to repair the Laptop of my Mother's Laptop for Christmas because no repair shop is even trying. There's a burn mark on the top of the Super IO(IT8585E 1544-FXA SC4UIA) the Laptop is a Asus P2520L (P552LA_LJ). It has 19 V, 3,3v goes to BIOS Battery, if it's unplugged and to the laptop battery. But I have no Idea, I'm no Electrician Engineer. So my only clue is that super I/O. The Laptop doesn't do anything if I push power button. Have you an idea? Thanks

I hate screws under the pads. Hate them. I'd never design anything to hide screws this way. PS: I just fixed a broken hinge with hot glue, and it really works! Do what Sorin said and use the hot air to melt the glue - it'll be almost liquid when you apply it, and it will hold everything together.

This time you had the luck to have this fault on a daughter card, Last time i had a burnt epoxy on the motherboard itself, i had to dig into very long in a large surface to get free from the short between layers, that was a hell, finally i rebuilt a lot of tracks and it worked great again !

Hi, sorry to ask this question here, but you're the best guyu that might help out, don't know anyone smarter in these matters than you.. I have thought of using a modern laptop webcam as a stationary webcam for my PC, done that in the past with some old webcam soldering a USB cable to it, but with this hp x360 webcam I have 12 PINS - webcam has two 6pin connectors on each side, have you encountered such device before?, I have identified +5V and GND, possibly one of the data terminals too, is it possible that it is usb 3.0 webcam ? why are there 12 pins for it ? thanks in advance

Surely the shop that sent you that one would have had a look at the charge port and seen the burnt board? That's an easy fix. A bit harder to fix when the connector is soldered to the motherboard tho'. I concur with other posters here that the shop that sent it is just being lazy and playing on your good nature Sorin :)

5:45 the voltage drop on the middle pin is much lower then the direct short to ground so I bet is not a shorted charging port
