With the USB stick: Doesn't the customer usually only care about the data on it if they bring a brocken USB stick in? I would wire a cut USB Cable to it and then either copy the data to a new stick they've to pay for or offer to send data through a file transfer service in a pw protected archive. Or give them the stick just with the cable attached

@AMECH AM Antonio Micello That case is possible. Sorin just asked in the video how others would handle it and it hink in "many" cases that would be the cheapest option if the usb connectors are not as a replacment part in stock.

Another great video Sorin. Thank you! I'm very impressed with how you managed to solder that tiny BGA chip on the phone's motherboard. It is amazing to see that excess solder bubbles going out without shorting the contacts and pins below the chip. Simply unbelievable. One would expected that all if excess solder is out, there must be many short circuits below the chip. But that obviously is not the case. Is is Rosin this magic thing to make that happen?

With that A70 : The A40+ series have a problem with the connector on the motherboard. The problem being when you change a battery a screen or idk you have to pull off the cable. Well at that moment you preety much brake off the connector and it will not make a good connection on the motherboard anymore. And no, resoldering won't work because the pad is comming of with the connector. It took us around 20 phones to fingure this one out. A way in wich you can test this theory is to push on the connector then connect the battery and try to power it on or charge it or watever. I changed the charging port of a police officer in my country and he was back after 2 days. I had to put a pice of plastic over the connectors to push the connector down because it only charged when it was pussed down. If you look in the troubleshooting manual the first this responsible for most of the faults on these phone is that bloody connector. Eithe the one on the mb or the one on the daughterboard ✌
@will_doherty3 жыл бұрын
Since the old cable was to hand, I thought it would be obvious to refit that one temporarily to see if the screen worked - there would be enough power in the battery to show something, after the few minutes of charging...
@phoneandcomputerworld17503 жыл бұрын
Sorin, the A70 problem is the main board connector, squeeze the left side of the connector with tweezers and it will charge, its a problem on all the A series Samsungs.

Zorin, you don't need reballing station, they are useless. Buy a set of stensils and Mechanic solder paste. It's very easy to reball small chips like this. I also recommend buying stensils with square holes as the chip releases much easier from those. Cheers!

on the a17 you could have used an usb c dock which has a hdmi connector and if you connect it to a second screen it will automatically cast on it.
@jonmobrien2 жыл бұрын
When the LCD is not working, I've never seen a phone automatically connect to HDMI. As I understand it, you have to enable it, meaning you need the LCD working first to get into the settings and enable it. And there's two different standards now also, different cables. That's my understanding.

On another Asus model with a similar problem when the brightness had only 2 values, 0 (black) and maximum, I put old drivers for the video card and the brightness works well. In addition, the automatic installation of new video card drivers must be blocked in windows. www.howtogeek.com/263851/how-to-prevent-windows-from-automatically-updating-specific-drivers/

The only thing they care about is the data on the USB thumb drive. In that case, you can just solder a regular USB cable directly to the traces. It's not easy, but I've done it before enough to get the data off.
