Looks real easy. Only need a chemical lab, special carrier material, curing ??, no holes, splendid. And of course that printer comes at a real affordable price, right???

Hi Anthony. The CJ in the video is a prototype, and Electroninks is mostly an advanced materials company, so we thought it would be nice to show that the ink is made in-house and put in cartridges. Depending on the ink, the shelf life can be really long (a year or more in the case of silver) so the cartridges can be shipped and don't have to be used all at once. You're right there's a coating that makes the liquid metal become solid in about a second. As for "no holes" that's something we're working on. At the time this video was made there wasn't an automated way to make holes. As for "affordable", that's relative. We are hopeful a printer like this with a substantial kit of sample substrates and cartridges will retail for $1000. Beta printers cost substantially more than $1000 to produce, so getting them into the hands of beta testers is being done on a case-by-case basis.

hi @Rob Roberts did you used readymade printer(if yes how can get it) or custom designed cardboard printer. I am too working on printer like this but not getting enough resources to build.

Typically, conductive inks have a high resistance... any measurements you would care to share?

Apparently it is silver, so the ink itself is going to be expensive. n x copper, where n=?

@@robroberts2064 Hi, have you ever thought about asking a Chinese factory to make machines? I think the price will be much lower.
