Is it true that the work done by the field on a charge is negative and that done against the field positive ?

Sir, when a charge moves in the direction of the electric field, work is done by the charge and its potential energy decreases. So similarly, when a charge move against the electric field, work is done on the charge. This is depends two more thing, First nature of charge, Second direction of moving charge If a positive charge is moved in the same direction as the electric field, or from higher to lower potential, the work done by the field will be positive. As per my understanding since the potential at infinity is zero and if we move a +ve charge towards a source +ve charge we have to exert a force to overcome the repulsive force . Hence the work done in this process should be considered positive. This is analogous to ascending the stairs against gravity when we gain in potential energy.

1:13:00 ma'am if we take distance is constant then whole equation is varies on just charge and we have one proper condition for charge q+ lambda q = const If we take diff of this we got one answer which is -1 but here - is just direction of the force so simply we got our answer .... Is it right ma'am????
