Thank you for your tutorials. I don't know why you don't have at least 100,000 subscribers. You've introduced my wife to doing decoupage, which she now loves. Your approach suits her well. Can you do a video specific to the different types of casting media, like pros and cons of each? I've seen you mention casting in a few videos (like this one), but something in-depth would be great.

Thank you, Jason! I’m so glad your wife has found decoupage, it’s so much fun! And that’s a great video suggestion, thank you. I’ll start making a pro/con list as I go and hopefully will get a video to you soon.

Thank you, Barbara! I am still just learning as I go with these ones. It’s fun to take you all along with me. Oh I’m listing it unreasonably high so I can keep it 🤣 That’s how I justify it to myself - if it sells, great I have way more money than I did before and if it doesn’t, I have an awesome dresser to look at every day.

Hi, Taryn! I can’t speed up! I miss things. You are NEVER boring. Even learned little things today about the moulds - why you like using clay more than resin, why you had to use resin this time, different kinds of glue to use. The painting in the middle is sooo pretty! I’m very excited to see how you finish this dresser. Also, I love that you just keep making the moulds and placing them until you get what you like. That’s a 🤦🏼♀️ for me since I’ve always tried to figure it out as I go. This looks a whole lot simpler.🌸

That’s so good to know, Deborah! Thank you. And yes, I even have quite a few left over that I can use on other projects. I’d rather get the boring part done and over with. And if I have extra, that’s fine so long as I don’t have to pour and wait anymore 😂

@elegantupgrades2 жыл бұрын
Ah yes, but it’s never as perfectly malleable as fresh out of the mould. It’s so satisfying being able to cut it then.
@deanneparis8888 Жыл бұрын
I always use fast cast resin for my molds because it is so durable and is much easier to to move around! I do use clay periodically for smaller, more simple items for sure, but the casting resin is my go to! I have played around and come up with a proportion that allows my castings to stay pliable longer and I can continuously cast even if I am not going to use them immediately. The biggest down side for me in casting resin is the dang bubbles! It is so aggravating to pull a piece from the mold and see that you missed a couple of bubbles! And inevitably if I am casting an intricate piece and get in a hurry I miss a few 😭and have to either start over or fill the hole. I have enjoyed watching your videos from your start and you have almost gotten me, the non artist married to an artist, to attempt the Bob Ross painting technique. I always stay away from illustration art because the chance of total humiliation is pretty high. It looks like so much fun though!
@elegantupgrades Жыл бұрын
I’m with you on the stubborn bubbles!!! And I really hope that you try a painting! I’m not kidding, I was absolute shocked when I did my first one. And, if I’m being honest, still pretty shocked. There are so many Bob Ross videos on YT that finding one that inspires you and makes you want to fallow along shouldn’t be too hard. And then just see where it takes you. It may not turn out, and then it’s just paint, it can be removed- BUT what if it DOES turn out!!!! What if it’s amazing?!?!
