Very sorry I'm late seeing this one, Marc. This is a very nice bit of kit, for the price. Thanks for sharing the review / demo. Oh, loved the lighted KZbin marquee! Thanks, and keep up the great works! :)

XUPCN is most likely a Chinese counterfeit of a XURON tool. The tool you have there looks just like some Xuron snips I have, and the color of the grips is identical.

1:15: ROFL, there seems to be a competition among KZbinrs: "Who has the most ridiculous big knive to open a box" I like that. Very interesting printer that got rid of the expensive fancy lasertech and only costs 1/4 of the price they were asking for those just a few years back.

Hi Markus, Actually it's not a phone like display but a LCD blind. Behind it there is a lamp with a reflector that spreads the light over the whole surface of the screen and the screen just blocks the light where it should not pass.
@markusfuller5 жыл бұрын
Hello Yes I agree. I was just keeping it simple by trying to describe the size by comparing it to a mobile phone sized screen.

Great test! Would have liked to hear a couple of more details though, like the amount of time the print took, the time you put it under uv light and such.
@jimjiggles14745 жыл бұрын
The estimated time for the print was 1hr and 14 seconds, but he said in the video that it actually only took 56 minutes. For most UV resins, it only needs around 5-10 minutes under UV light to set to a reasonable hardness, a few hours under direct sunlight. If it has crevices or multiple sides, it may need turning to make sure it cures evenly. It's just what dealing with UV resin is like. Fast curing, but it takes a bit more effort.
@markusfuller5 жыл бұрын
Hi the print took 56 minutes according to the camera and the UV was on about 10 minutes though i repositioned the parts a few times inside that 10 minutes.

Great video and yes resin printer great for very fine detail well worth the extra prep and cleaning after :-)
@jimjiggles14745 жыл бұрын
So the machine is brilliant, especially for the price. The only drawbacks are not to do with the machine, but dealing with UV Resin. It smells, it makes a lot of mess and it requires a bit more care and attention than standard 3D prints do. It's a part of the course, and no commercial machine will change that, to all our annoyances, but it gets the results that even more expensive 3D printers can't give. One thing of note for you and others, after polymer resin fully cures, it can shrink a little bit. So make sure you take this into account during designs.
@markusfuller5 жыл бұрын
Thank Jimmy. true the printer is great but the extra human efford required is the downside.

Is there a way to 3-d scan say, a synth knob and then print it out or do you have to measure and draw the knobs yourself?
@willsoe5 жыл бұрын
There are ways to 3d scan objects, sometimes with your phone camera and apps, or some that are more expensive. Obviously quality goes up with the money you pay
@markusfuller5 жыл бұрын
Will has beaten me to the answer. I do not have a 3D scanner but there are supposed to be some pretty good mobile phone apps so i will look into it.

I wonder if these caps and sliders could be made out of wood. I find polished wood much nicer to touch than plastic. How would one come to this kind of precision with wood I wonder
@markusfuller5 жыл бұрын
I think wood could look very nice as fader caps but how to cut that fine 2mm x 4mm slot in the bottom.
@JohnnyMotel995 жыл бұрын
I have seen 3D printers use a wood based filament, don't know how they do fine detail, probably not that good.

The resin should still cure outdoors during the daytime. UV is pretty good at penetrating the clouds.
