My guess: each BMC chip holds one plug-out you can install. That's why you have 3 slots for them. They do it like this in order to not have to wait to exchange data when you pick a different plug-out for a patch you want to play, pretty sure. Each BMC chip needs some extra memory so that's why there's symmetry there. The additional memory chip on the backside could very likely be memory used by the effects (delay/reverb).

What is your opinion on SPEAKERS facing the floor? I've seen it in some Roland models too.

Whenever l do a recording on the keyboard using Audio Recorder/Player, an error message pops out in the Main Screen, stating ..'This Drive Is Busy' 😅 .. l have reset the keyboard system and foramtting them keyboard hard disk and USB. Nothing seems ti work. The error message will pops out whenever l do recording on the keyboard. During normal play on the keyboard, this issue l do not encountered. It's only during audio recording. Do you have any idea what's is happening in the keyboard? Yamaha Corporation Malaysia, their technical team not able to detect what's wrong on the keyboard. It's complicated issues.

Hi Markus. A few years ago, I replaced the backlight on my old W7 and it was a pig of a job. Took me almost an entire day off work. Full on dismantling the display and getting everything aligned is fiddly to say the least. A wonderful sense of achievement when I got it working though. A lovely sounding synthesizer which, as you know is the forerunner to all their current AWM2 models. As for floppy drives, don't get me started on those!! Nice video anyway
