There is no other game that captures the quiet apocalypse better. Waking up in the Mountaineer's Hut, and having my own set of goals to complete every day, be them collecting wood for fire, hunting the local fauna or scavenging the whole of Great Bear Island for goods, whenever or however I can is absolutely wonderful, and with the impactful finality of death looming around the corner, makes every step a careful one. As a Vancouver Islander myself, it's great to have such amazing creators nearby making this adventure for all of us to enjoy. I hope along with the rest of you that we all get a live-action story of this adventure one day, I myself would prefer an 8-part mini-series, to a 2 hour film. Thank You Hinterland

You csn here the narrator or voice actor uses an "h" sound not an "f" sound. Even if it was, a treasured force would not make sense with what the poem is saying. A Trojan horse is in the correct context of the poem.

This is great. Nature is graceful and beautiful like a dear, but also is powerful and fierce, its maw threatening us each day, like a wolf. The long dark is a different game. I new it was unique in its own aspects, so I started to play it with a different mindset. This game has single handedly changed the aspects of my life, and my outlook on nature. Ok I love this game to death, but death isn’t a simple word to describe how much I love the game. This game helped me through times of darkness and sadness, whenever I had a bad day, I would jump on the game and start off where I continued my survival mode game, solving problems to help me survive always kept me occupied from the real world, it helped me, and hints to this movie, I want them to make it right, we, The Long Dark fans, should help as well to creating this film to also match something similar to The Long Dark, heck, maybe even the exact same, I want them to be careful on creating this movie. So beautiful and well made. High quality overview of the vast snowey landscape with thousands of trees. Must have required a good highend drone for that. So many good details with eg. tiny fire sparks from the bonfire, tiny model of the Lighthouse of the one on Desolation Point, the fishing boat (from Bleak Inlet). And paid attention to detail with dust on the shelf, when can of peaches are being picked up and scavenged. The tense background music. And ofcause the good and deep narator voice of Christopher Plummer. His deep and kind of hoarse voice fits perfect. May he rest in Peace. Very good good Hinterland for a very good game. I'm watching this video while sitting next to a window. There is a snow storm outside and I have two candles on the edge of my old wooden desk far from my computer screen. The road is buried under ice and about 15cm of snow but a few vehicles are still slowly going down the street. The lamp outside my door is covered in frost from the freezing rain earlier in the day. Because of the game and inrl environment, it makes me feel like I am really in the game. Now I'm in the mood for some outdoor exploring inrl. I don't want to go outside to shovel snow but I have to. The man may be gone but his legacy remains. He has touched the fabric of The Long Dark’s community. When they make a movie of the Long Dark, he will be remembered as the actor that laid the first stones of the foundation that became the template for what I would want to see of this game as a movie. His work, Raphael’s work, and those at Hinterland, have turned this game into more than a game… An experience? A warning of an all too real looming Sword of Damocles that is a massive solar flare hitting earth? A world where you lose yourself in a game that has, in my humble opinion, come to define the survival genre (along with games like subnautica)? Regardless, wherever Christopher is, I’m sure he is happy knowing that he contributed so much to cinema, TV, and that many will remember the lifetime of work he left behind. This here is how I remember him by. A narrator that spoke with such gravitas and powerful elegance, but also an actor that made this role that much more palpable. May where he has gone from this mortal coil be a place of peace and happiness, and I am looking forwards to what hinterland can do for this game as a movie.
