I just snapped up an XF80 half rack at a clearance sale and got a great deal! I still think the XF80 was better than the newer Prestera line.

Nice video. A question? Do the sliding safety’s go low enough to allow a deadlift from the floor or does the bar end suspended from the safety ie the plates not sitting on the floor? Regards Perry

Time: 05.20 Dip module: When you put the magnetic pin in should the hook lift from the holeedge in the rack and therefor not damage the hole. (So no need for extra cover.) Can you check if it does?

Gidde35 you are correct that once the pin is in place, the hook lifts off of the hole. The damage comes into play when you initially hook up the dip bar in put the hook in the hole. Since it is metal on metal depending on how you slide it in, you can scratch up the hole. Eleiko should have added some plastic cover over the hook. I think I am going add some type of sleeve over it.

Do you have the rack attached to the floor via bolts?

Hi Chris, I don't have the rack bolted to the floor and so far I haven't experienced any issues with the rack moving or felt the rack to be unsafe. I do pull ups on it just about every day without it feeling unstable. I think Eleiko says to bolt it down for Safety, but I don't feel the need to.

Hi Chris, which do you prefer Rogue Monster rack or the Eleiko Prestera and what do you find you use more?

I would opt for the Rogue Monster Rack since it has standard 3x3 and 1 inch holes. You will be able to get many more accessories for it than the Eleiko rack. With Eleiko you are pretty much stuck with their eco-system since the rack is 70mm x 70mm with 16mm holes.

@@kingofkingscoffee Lots of reviews say Rogue equipment can be over built, heavy and clunky but you cant beat the quality but the eleiko looks beautiful IMO and once you buy them last for decades.

@@cavechav I have had both. Right now I have the Eleiko Prestera due to Covid supplies at the time. Wish I had gone with Rogue or Oak Club manufacturing because the 3x3 setup simply allows you to purchase 3rd party accessories you can't with the Prestera line. Don't get me wrong the Prestera is nice, but IMO going to a 70mm x 70mm tube set really limits your options. By the way if you want the Eleiko weight stack, it doesn't work with the sliding j-cups and safety arms. Bad design IMO.

Weight stack is coming buddy, but you'd probably have to swap out those sliding jcups and safety arms 😂😂😂

I saw a picture of what I think is the new weight stack. instagram.com/p/CcOWC0ROUS9/ The only way this setup appears to work with the sliding j-cups and safety arms is if you have space on both sides of the rack. One side for cable work and the other side for squats and such. This works great in a commercial gym setup where you have the space to have a rack setup like this. It doesn't work at all in a garage or home gym where space is at a premium. I would have thought the engineers could have come up with a different solution. Namely a weight stack at the back of the half rack rather than the side. I suppose though if they did that, all the shelving would be useless. 😂😂😂. I guess they picked their poison.

@@GearMashers Actually what you see there is the double half rack. The cable attachment also works with a half rack and power rack. If you look at the picture, the cable attachment is placed at the space between the stainless steel upright and the black powder coated upright. This particular space is similar across all Prestera racks, i.e the whole setup doesn't take any more space than if you didn't have the attachment. Also, you can slide the pulley up and down, which means, you CAN use the rack for squats and bench with the cable attachment attached. As to the sliding jcup and SA, once you have the cable attachment on, I was told, they won't work because of the space between the cable attachment and the jcup/safety arms. So you and I will have to swap those gliding things with the normal pin ones 😁

Did you end up getting the cable stacks? I’m considering it, but not sold as I don’t see a great way to do heavy lat pull downs

I did not. The issue with the cable stack is they don't work with the sliding J-cups. They didn't engineer it to have space for the pull out pins to slide the j-cups up and down. IMO this was a big oversight. I was pretty disappointed. They should have made a weight stack in the rear.
