I wanted to make this kind of video a couple of months ago but then I realized the thing about "trigger conditions" in Elektron Digitakt and remembered this module. So Bidoo Zoumai is a cool sequencer which is highly inspired by Elektron machines sequencers. And trigger conditions are not only thing that those ones have - there are also CV per step, trim, ratches, slides and more things that worth to look at this one. There is also a tool which I completely forgot to add in the video 8pe and this is pattern manager with additional CV per pattern and ability to switch patterns according to incoming clock to stay in sync actually.
And in this video I showed some tutorial on it at first and then did a techno patch from scrath. Hope you will enjoy it!

Thank you for this nice tutorial. Bidoo sequencers are among my favourite ones in VCV.

Thanks for the tutorial. Could you please explain how to sync pattern changes? You mentioned a pattern manager, but I haven't been able to find more information about it. Thanks

Great video about a great sequencer 🙂

After working with Zou Mai for about half an hour, I was able to get a gate out of step 1, pattern 1, track 1. But that's all. I'm not sure why the button for step 1 is green, and I haven't been able to get any of the other step buttons to turn green. As another commenter mentioned, the manual is pretty useless.

It would be better if you would start by explaining how do you plug this piece of shit that you call a sequencer in order to get some trivial melody out of this thing. Get the sequencer alone with two oscillators and start by showing in two tracks how do you plug it out and make it play two simple melodies and than we can talk about tutorials cause this is not helping. I see eight things plugged out of the sequencer and I don't understand anything of what's going on.

@@VCVRackIdeas I am sorry for my outburst but this is not your fault, Bidoo is the guilty one, I made a patch based on Zou mai and as I didn't understand how to get some voltage out of the second row of outputs nothing came out so I went for the manual and that's when I got really pissed, the fuckin "manual" somehow presupposes that I know Elektron sequencers and only talks about what the machine does but not how. Then I saw your video and as I was really annoyed before that I inadvertently blamed it also for my growing frustration, sorry. I will learn Zou mai if it's the last thing I do before I die.

@@Jazzmaster58 Perhaps you could elaborate on what you mean with "getting voltage out of the second row of outputs"? Each row of the outputs corresponds to a channel (1-8), maybe you didn't have anything programmed on the second track?

@@jtekholm It means I couldn't get any voltage to make an oscillator "sing". Now, you're a bit late, half an hour later I was apologizing for my rant and using the sequencer.

@@Jazzmaster58 Yeah, I noticed your apology, just wasn't sure if you found out how to make things work with zou mai. But I'm glad to hear that you did!
