That’s some nice terrain. You hit the nail on the head it’s almost funny how fast it is as a RTR. After installing a hobbywings 1800 kv brushless motor & Esc combo it’s incredible. And I added a Reefs servo & it’s almost cheating I swear. I can’t wait till you do your upgrades. I’m looking at getting the metal suspension links that are metal but I’ve only seen them for about 100$ yikes! But none the less I will get them to keep things stiff especially once you add electronics that have a lot of torque. I really enjoy all your videos. I just got home from my night job so it’s almost midnight & I enjoyed getting home & watching it. I’m off tomorrow so I’m getting out with the RC’s & I always take the Ecto.

Nice! You’ve got me looking at the metal suspension links now too….yikes is right but they look soooo nice! Installed the HW Fusion 1200 and FS GT5 over the weekend and as you said exactly, it’s just a beauty to run with a proper motor/esc setup. Footage from the install and first run coming this Saturday.

Good stuff! It's either one of these, or an Element Enduro Builders Kit I'm going to go for next. I'm leaning more towards the Enduro Builders kit at the moment, as it means you get all the fun of building a rig from scratch! Plus you can pick and choose the electrics for it.

I see that Amain had gatekeeper kits at a wicked discount last week, not to add to your dilemma 😀 I don’t think you can go wrong with an Element truck in general

Pretty cool. I've been looking at the ecto and wondering how good I can build it running 2.2.

Stay tuned for the HobbyWing Fusion and GT5 upgrade video coming this Wednesday. I’ve been considering doing this build in 2.2’s as well. Still undecided on tire/wheel combo. Cheers 👍

@@SonoranScaleStudios I found a set of 2.2 injora black steelie beadlocks and put Pitbull Braven Berserkers on them they are 5.1 inches and they do real good with very little body rub

I think this is the next rig in my fleet. I do wish they had it in a kit

I was actually surprised that it isn’t offered as a kit too. Hopefully there will be a Gen 2 in the future with a kit option. Let’s petition Associated Electronics 👍

I bought the program card when i first got my Ecto. The card does not provide enough control to do any good with the touchy throttle. You honestly are better off with a new esc. To keep costs low the newer ESC-70 or the tried and true HW 1080 would be a good choice. Also a simple pinion gear swap to a 16 or maybe even 14 will help a lot

Excellent advice and thank you for the insider info regarding the program card!

(00:55) So the "ELEMENT" RC's (motor) "brand"- name ... is made by a company called REEDY, which primarily builds [mid to high level race motors], - (NOT) what ya want, in a crawler !!! This is why I was hesitant to go with the ELEMENT KIT, RTR, ETC !!! 🤨 Yes, the 550 seemed appealing in "some" of these ELEMENT rigs, - but I figured after I was "settled" choice-wise, with a KIT, I could always buy the motor from REEDY - the electronics "donor - company" - for ELEMENT RC !! 😉 ...Right...!! So that is why I went with HOLMES HOBBIES, 550 sized motor (12T) Crawlmaster Sport, cuz John had what I wanted & needed, for my project build, at a very affordable price !!! ($20) - I dropped it in my GMADE (GS02F), paired with a HOBBYWING 1080 ESC (3S)capable, and I have been happy as ever with this "TRIO" COMBO. 🤘😁...👌 💪🇺🇸

I also was originally familiar with Reedy from the buggy race scene in the 90’s. Thanks for sharing such positive results with the Holmes Hobbies product, I can’t say that I have ever heard a negative…….aside from selling out often 😂
