Once again you give us food for thought I have the Ecto and personally I'm happy at the moment but will be doing the higher overdrive soon . I like the way you explain things and the fact that you don't tell folks that they must do this or that. You just explain your thoughts on a product be it stock or custom and give us your reasoning as to why you've made your personal choice . Keep this up I've really enjoy your KZbin channel 👍👍

I’ve seen a aftermarket aluminum bracket on Facebook that allows you to rotate the whole transmission witch lowers the spur gear height and keep the motor in a low position
@BigSungHobbies2 жыл бұрын
Yes, I believe Artful Dodgers has come up with solution. It looks very intriguing, and it should be a good option for Stealth-X transmission.

It's a great transmission, and I really like it as well. Like I said on the video, if you are straight looking at performance then 2.Low is the way go, otherwise, Stealth-X is a great choice.

I have a question for anyone who is willing to answer it. The Stealth X also has a lot of torque twist. Does the TGH 2.low have the same issue or do the drives rotate opposite of each other which illuminates that issue. The cost of the Stealth X make it very cost effective for me but I find myself in situations where the torque twist causes problems for me. I DO NOT compete in any way with RC cars or trucks. I'm doing research for my build and found this video helpful.
@BigSungHobbies2 жыл бұрын
I am assuming you are running 3 link setup with panhard link. Much of the torque twist happens if you don't have the geometry correct, and it's not so much from torque from the transmission. You want to ensure that panhard link and steering link are parallel to each other. If they are not, use spacers to align them parallel, and that should help. If you want to avoid torque twist completely, then looking into 4 link setup and going Servo on Axle (SOA) setup is another great option. Good luck.

Did you swap transmissions from one RC to the other?
@BigSungHobbies Жыл бұрын
I did not, but I used to run the Stealth-X transmission on my cheater rig for a long time before I swapped out to TGH 2.Low. That gave me good opportunity to get a good feel for both.

You should watch RC reviews review of overdrive. It was very interesting. Great job as always!! You give the best breakdowns of your sweet rigs. I’m a huge fan lately of just taking springs completely off shocks. Just did to my sendero hd and it is crazy the difference. ✌️🍻👍 Thanks for all the food for thought in your videos!
@BigSungHobbies2 жыл бұрын
I actually had a long discussion with him directly in person before he put out the video. My personal experiences gave me slightly different perspective, but I tend to crawl a bit more crazier stuff than he does with his rigs. I had also spoken to several comp guys, and most of them had a different perspective as well. But it was interesting to see the videos, and I can see why he came with that conclusion.
@grrfy2 жыл бұрын
I find too much odrive on our terrain of wet/clay/ leaves and general woodland cross-slopes tends to sometimes make the rear slip lower than would like rather than follow the front, I have also just removed the springs on a GMade F-Bom and set thick damper fluid to just give a quarter inch rebound ,seems capable so far over the hard springs on originally.
@BigSungHobbies2 жыл бұрын
@grrfy You are correct. Having too much overdrive can actually be a bad thing. I normally recommend much lower OD for trail terrains, and it also puts less strain on the drivetrain.
@rcarty4192 жыл бұрын
I only have minimal overdrive in my sendero but it does seem that unless it’s a straight up incline than having the tires moving in different speeds would negatively effect grip, ones slipping. Or does it dip down and pop out....it’s so hard to test RC without literally taking one rig and running it switching overdrive and running again. All I care about is making steep inclines lol
@BigSungHobbies2 жыл бұрын
@@rcarty419 Unless you are mainly doing trail runs, for crawlers, I feel that the the additional overdrive works really well. I have tested my rigs in several trails in NorCal, SoCal and Korea, and for my style of driving I prefer the higher OD. Did you need to make any modifications to the white Delrin skid plate that comes with the GSpeed Element tgh-v3 kit when mounting the 2 low?

what's your thoughts on 2.low vs creeperT/front motor mount?
@BigSungHobbies2 жыл бұрын
Both are great, but it depends on what you want to do with your rigs. If you are building Class 1, then I would use the CreeperT/front motor mount. If you are building straight cheater rig, then go with 2.low as it helps to lower the CG.

I believe they do as far as I can recollect...it's been a while since I have worked on one. I think you will love the performance of either options.
@adammtber51992 жыл бұрын
I was wondering, why did you chose the 2.low vs the creeper transmission? I have the stealth x in my class2 and want to upgrade the transmission.
@BigSungHobbies2 жыл бұрын
Creeper transmission is typically used with Forward Motor Mount (FMM). 2.Low includes the motor mount and sits low to the ground.
@adammtber51992 жыл бұрын
@@BigSungHobbies okay, so the benefit is the forward weight of the motor then.
@BigSungHobbies2 жыл бұрын
The reason for going with FMM with Creeper is for the following: 1) scale points, 2) motor is mounted at the front end, 3) allows for interior. The benefit of 2.Low is pure performance mainly low CG.
@adammtber51992 жыл бұрын
@@BigSungHobbies that helps narrow it down. Thank you. 2.Low it is, I can always make a bare minimum interior for the points. I appreciate you taking the time to replspond.
@BigSungHobbies2 жыл бұрын
TGH T-210 might be a great option if you plan to install interior...just something to think about.
