This scene is probably the best scene in the entire 3rd season of Elementary. I loved the development of Kitty's character.

I like how after what he said to her, he turned & left instead of giving a hug, it was fitting to his character

I think the reason why Kitty worked as a character is because she wasn't just there to be Sherlock's protégé, or to cause problems between him and Watson. She had a storyline of her own that worked well within the main plot, she stuck around long enough to have a character arc, and she got a great ending. If they'd dragged it all out, I don't think I would have cared about her at all, and probably would've found her annoying.

i feel that she is the better actor than Lucy, after Kitty left i got quite bored with Watson's unrealistic co-dependant character

This scene was very powerful for a bond between friends! Just like Waston friendship, and now Kitty comes along, Sherlock became more than a mentor and friend and now turns into a big brother to Kitty!

I love this scene its one of my favourite from the show. It's difficult to know where to begin with this three minute scene the amount of emotion within just a few short moments. Kitty's character was so well developed. They introduce her as an almost a broken character at the start of the series and with the help of Homes and Watson she slowly grows in confidence. It was Gruner who targeted Kitty again in New York and taunts her that she was behind his later victims suffering. She has every right to seek revenge and to hurt and even kill Gruner. She has the facilites and the knowledge how to get away with the crime. But in this scene it is almost as if shes looking for Holmes approval. And Holmes knows the conflict she is facing. He has been building a case against Gruner to bring him to justice and save Kitty having to seek revenge on the man who hurt her. He manages this and still understands Kitty's desire to kill him for the atrocious deeds he has commited. Holmes understands the need for revenge and won't stop her from proceeding. He gives her the biggest comfort he can at this moment in time and that is that whatever she decides she would always be sppecial to him she would always be his friend.
