@RetJetFxr that's great! Here in S FL they pay $29k/yr for school bus drivers. The average house here is now close to $500k, I occasionally see one bedroom apartments for rent for just over $2,000 a month, so suffice to say school bus drivers are not paid a living wage here.

I am a school bus driver myself, for those who might not know, if you leave a sleeping child on the bus and leave the bus, it is a class 4 felony (for this reason, along with the fact i care about the kids, i always do my child check) even still, this is an unintentional(if careless) act. So if that gets you a class 4 felony, this should be 40 times worse. I am absolutely shocked all that happened was he was fired. SMH

Like this is convenient for all families… lots of car pools or walking like the old days! SpEd of course still have the buses if needed. We have a very large & excellent SpEd program in our districts here.

@beckycaughel7557Ай бұрын
Dropping off 40 kids after dark in the cold at a random intersection I couldn’t tell but I didn’t even see a safe place for them to go and some some of the older kids had cell phones or something. Thankfully that woman came to help those two girls but even that it required them to trust a stranger and get in the car with her which I’m sure they’ve been told 100 times not to do! But it’s not like they have much choice. It actually reminds me of a time many years ago now when I was working at Burger King and I had gotten off my shift but I noticed that there was a little boy just standing by a light pole in front of our store you have been there a long time and finally a friend of mine and I went up to him because I didn’t want to approach him by myself because I didn’t want to be accused of anything we went up to him and asked him if he was OK and apparently he was a part of a group selling candy and the van driver just drops the kids off and have them go around trying to sell candy and then supposed to pick them up at a certain time at a certain place and his driver didn’t come we waited a little longer and then the manager of the store was off duty so the three of us offer him a ride home. Unfortunately he didn’t exactly how to get there.(this is before GPS ) he finally was able to remember his grandmother’s name we had to stop at the phonebooth and look up her phone number. so we called her told her the situation. And offered to drive him to her since she didn’t have a car. Needless to say she was quite livid as was the boy’s mother. Thankfully, that situation worked out just like this one did with this woman driving these two girls home.
