Take your weekends!!!! We need them to be refreshed for the week. I used to go in every weekend too, but when I stopped I noticed that my energy was higher on Monday. Teaching is our passion of course, but it can't be our whole lives. That causes burnout in the long run. 💜

Thaks for coming back!! I missed you. Glad to be able to follow your work again. Do take the weekends off every year has its own kids, adventures, challenges and blessings. However, husband and family hopefully will always and unconditional be around and they need us. As teachers we tent to place work first knowing that family totally understands but they also need our full attention sometimes they may not say so, but they do. Blessings!

Missed your class vlogs. But I love all your instagram content lately too. Vlog wherever you feel like! Ending a video from home seems like the most practical so you arent having to go into the classroom on weekends. Love your regular daily/lifestyle content you did in summer or on breaks, learning about your trips and practicing Spanish, etc. Its all great! Glad to see you back here too but do what is best for you!

Yay! Glad you posted, I miss watching these. I’m an elementary teacher and I don’t know how you can get it all done and keep up with social media posts, etc. too! My district has the SMART panel which I love since it’s basically a stand alone computer and I don’t need to plug mine in for the projector any more! I also use slides throughout the day and access things from my Google Drive directly on there. I also enjoy the Lumio quiz game feature and having students connect their own computers to the board to show their learning! Our district is 1-1 and student have Chromebooks or iPads/tablets.

Do what makes you happy and what is best for your mental health. We need to separate work and home. This year I too have not been going into my classroom on the weekends as much as I used to because I felt like I only had one day off. It was a taking a toll.

So we have adopted big screen tv/smart boards. I use it for everything. I don't connect my computer to it; it is wifi capable. I have it connected to my google drive so I put my agenda up there. I show any videos on it. I can take notes on it though I rarely use that aspect. I can mirror cast to it from my computer across the room or I can connect my computer like you do. All of this is very helpful. The touchscreen aspect is brilliant.

Vlog from home. I have an interactive smart board and I will screen share my teacher computer, so the students are able to manipulate the slides. I also will use it for small groups playing interactive games

I am a first year and have started setting boundaries. I have had to accept that I can't get everything done and there's more I should probably doing. However, I don't get paid enough to work more than 45 hours a week so I wont work more than that. If my district wants me to do more, then they can pay me more. I love my district and feel supported but I wont be one of those teachers that leaves after 2 years due to burn out. So the boundaries have been set.

I miss having a smart board, I had one during my student teaching and it made things so interactive with the kids and now all I have is a projector and my computer so it makes things less interactive when doing certain things. We had Clever Touch boards in my internship district and I definitely miss it!

We have smart boards over here in the UK and love them. At my school we used a software called ActivInspire for our lesson which allows us to write on the board which is great for modelling an topic
