No one would have done better than this Thai man in Thailand… He humbly apologized with a wai (traditional gesture) when he found out that his bike angered this herd of Jumbos in Khao Yai National Park, Thailand. … and he survived! He was among the fortunate few who came face-to-face with the jumbos and escaped unscathed, while many cars have been damaged and some curious ones who came out of the vehicles to snap the photos- killed. Do not get out of the car! Please learn the gesture of ‘Thai wai’ when visiting Thailand
the elephant heard must have suffered once due to someone on a motorbike. Elephants have excellent memory and would have associated the motorbike with something bad

ช้างตัวอื่นฉลาดมาก อุตส่าห์เข้ามาช่วยห้าม ไม่งั้นพี่เละไปแล้ว พวกบิ๊กไบค์นี่เลิกเถอะ ไปขี่ที่อื่นได้มั้ย - Luckily the other elephants tried to calm down the angry one. What a luck that guy survives! This is the fault of the big bikes group. Poor dude, rode his motorbike quietly and has to face pissed elephants caused by big bikes :/
@MickBassist9 жыл бұрын
That wasn't an attack they were warning him... They are very protective animals and that guy was at the wrong place at the wrong time... If that would have been an attack the man would have been flattened and so would the bike... They were just protecting themselves like any other animal would do... Hope other people got that besides me

He shouldn't have been following them so closely. They felt their space invaded, plus there were younger elephants in the herd. They just wanted him to back off, rightly so.

That picture at the end is actually pretty cool if you question why he's holding his hands together because it is a part of Buddhist/Thai gesture just like saying "Please forgive me " type of way, he's clearly implying for the elephant to give him mercy with this apologetic gesture and a sign of respect, it may not have worked but its just a amazing picture to say the least. That setting makes them seem like dinosaurs ahah

Look at the photo's at the end, the man has deep RESPECT for the elephants, something other countrys and its people could learn alot from these people.

Very nice job Andy! congratulation This footage shows that motorcycles should be banned in Khao Yai, sure! But I do not think these elephants are so aggressive. Their behavior is very emotional but not very different from what it would be if a baby elephant had issued a distress call. It is of course very happy that this young man was not really attacked. Above all, it is not territorial defense but they were deceived by the noise from the bike, probably those close to infrasounds they also emit.
