Thank you to our patron Hunter for this AMAZING pick. You rock bro :D
Where do I even start with this band? The things they can make me feel with just like 2 seconds of a guitar riff is insane. They can't keep getting away with this!

If you’d like to donate to the channel or just show your appreciation, all the details are below. All donations and tips that come from you, go into my daughters college fund and a fund for channel equipment. I created this channel for her so she has videos of her father talking and doing something he enjoys(listening to music and talking about it) since I don’t have any of those of my father. I decided that all funds that might come from this will go to her as well :) thank you again for your generosity guys, I appreciate you all more then you will ever know.
Your name will be added to the Thank you supporters’ video that plays at the end of every video and you get to pick a video for me to react to. Thank you so much!! If you donate and pick a song, I will get to it in under 24 hours!

Haken has slowly worked themselves up my list of favorite bands - now there is no doubt they are no.1. Haken just does it all so well. Amazing, underrated band that just delivers and delivers more than anyone has the right to ask of them.

This song is based off of The Elephant Man Joseph Merick. He was part of a "Freak Show" as they were called to make a living in the 1800s. Which is also a theme of Haken's first album Aquarius. Which "I remember" the quirkiness of the album in this song. So it is a bunch of homages to past influences and saying never forget while also remembering who you are.

Man what a concept. I can't imagine the life that poor man lived. This track was drop dead gorgeous. I laughed, I cried, I wrote a dream journal.... I did everything with this track. They are masters of the genre of epic yet heartwrenching

Very Gentle Giant-ish. Glad you're enjoying the kind of music. You should really look at Three Frends ou Free hand from Gentle Giant. Masterpieces...

I loved this song from the very first listen and also teared up on the final chorus. The way he sings “I remember” is just so incredible and really makes me think of nostalgic, fond memories with old friends and family members who aren’t here anymore. Great vid man👍

Great react! Arguably the best song on the album, definitely the most epic! Favorite part for me is the sequence of tracks 4 through 6. Or maybe just the whole thing from start to finish🫠

Hey bro!! Very fun, funky, elephant song!! I can see that Opeth vibe on the guitar for sure, this reminds me of a mix between Australian band Toehider especially the song called what kind of creature am i, and some Opeth after listening.yes i cant help but think they got some inspiration from Toehider for this one.

I'm preaching to the converted, but I honestly think Haken are the best band on the planet right now. Nobody touches them.

This song was a slow burner on the album.. I immediately fell in love with Nightingale, from the first listen, but now Elephants is also among my favorite Haken songs! I love the journey of this song and how it connects with our reality. This is a quick video of the band talking about it : kzbin.info/www/bejne/rYK1emlupL6Dras ( they did it for the entire album) "If I should fail in pleasing you Could I create myself anew? Would I be measured by my soul? Could I be treasured in your home? Take me!" This is heavy shit...

I am very pleased with their direction. Imagine them going FULL prog and leaving their old style behind except for the riffs 🤣 it would be glorious. I'll have to listen some more for the Haken inspired parts though 👌

Bro I get that you're a btbam fan, I am too but not everything sounds like them lol. They actually take great influence from gentle giant.

🤣 that part literally sounds just "the ectopic stroll" by btbam. Just a comparison to that certain section. The song overall is very much GG and Queen

@@stevecampbell8152 I think it's the janky piano driven verses musically that is reminiscent of The Ectopic Stroll but the atonal vocals it's Gentle Giant through and through. Honestly, I think you're both kinda right :)
