Ross really shines on this album. I think his best work to date .

My brother who isn’t a big Haken fan texted me yesterday “top 3 rock vocalists”. So this album is for sure showing off his abilities to the utmost degree.

Ive been saying the same thing!! My wife and I agree that they really let Ross loose on this album. He is exploring Melodies and Vocal Textures so much more now, and it’s showing off his skill better than ever.

This song is like if The Cockroach King was even more unhinged and bonkers, and I absolutely adore it.

Love that they shout out and carry the torch of a band like Gentle Giant. These guys never disappoint and this song is a masterpiece!

Interesting to learn Charlie was behind this song. It gave me Aquarius vibes right off the bat, but Richard was the primary music writer for that era.
@BTBAM819 Жыл бұрын
It surprised me aswell by the same reason as yours. But on the other hand makes sense knowing Charlie is the metalhead of the band, and Elephant may be the heaviest off Fauna. How the hell did he write such a beast of a song like that?

Such a great song, easily my favourite on the album so far. Major 70s vibes with a bit of Gentle Giant and some Yes in there.

The Leviathan of Doggerland part is maybe my favourite on the album. It's got a great 90s/00s King Crimson vibe with such a great groove and it works so well.

On my first listen through, I was thrown off by this song. It is all over the place, complex, and long and it's hard to appreciate the full scope of it until you've heard it several times. After maybe 5-10 listens, I definitely enjoy it much more!

That one is really an epic piece, a milestone of your career and modern prog metal without a doubt !

I think I've concluded that this might be Haken's greatest tune in my view. There's so many but I have become completely obsessed with this song. The DT style riff that is the basis for the keys solo then going into the most, evil, doom, dread-filled riff I've ever encountered absolutely blows my tits off! How the hell do you fit those lyrics in the way they have?! It sends me back in time to "a fog draped Whitechapel". Pure genius!

Thanks Charlie for writing this masterpiece, easily one of my favorite Haken songs ever! As a fan of Sweeney Todd myself, makes total sense that the song was influenced by it! Great tune!

I first discovered Gentle Giant back to 2003 thanks to a Father’s friend then You Tube made its magic and brought us all these cool videos about this iconic band, i listened the whole discography and i always wanted to listen to more GG material, well Haken has made that possible 😅 i think Cockroach King and this song is absolutely phenomenal and brings those great eclectic vibes that only the giants were able to make, thanks Haken for including this great reference on your new album 🏴 it proves how genius you are as well. The guitar arrangement from the “i remember” 5:06 part sounds like the solo from Gentle Giant’s song “Just the same”.
