Because of your organization, this beautiful elephant was allowed to live in joy and safety, and die with dignity and respect. If only they could all have this. Thank you.

What a wonderful place The Elephant Sanctuary of Tennessee is. A place where she could just be an elephant. Liz is truly free now.

It breaks my heart that it takes us so long to get them out of captivity to a wonderful place to live in peace. Why can't the rest of the world see we don't own them and have no business using them.

Beautiful tribute to a beautiful elephant! I am so glad she had many years at the Elephant Sanctuary of Tennessee! She was so happy there. Seems like her "mates" stayed very close to her those last few days. I think they may have a sixth sense, just like dogs. RIP sweet Liz! God bless all those who took such good care of her at the sanctuary. May be you be richly blessed in the work you do.

What a wonderful woman ! So sorry to you and yours for your loss but what a GREAT decade this old lady had. Just as I was playing this video, my old rescued cockatiel heard Liz's chirping and has adopted this noise as his own. Thanks for saying hello in my own home, Liz. May you be at peace old girl.

Do not stand at my grave and weep, I am not there; I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow, I am the diamond glints on snow, I am the sun on ripened grain, I am the gentle autumn rain. When you awaken in the morning’s hush I am the swift uplifting rush Of quiet birds in circling flight. I am the soft star-shine at night. Do not stand at my grave and cry, I am not there; I did not die.

On meaningful days like this it hurts again terribly that Carol Buckley, the co-founder of TES, would not be able to say goodbye to Liz as she has been banished from the TES grounds five years ago. Mrs. Buckley is abroad at the moment, but even if she had been at home in her house in Hohenwald, she would not have been permitted access to the grounds. All those five years she has not been permitted to see her beloved elephants again, not even Tarra, the elephant she took care for for some 35 years, the elephant whom she built the TES Sanctuary for in the first place. For the love of Liz, please, lift the ban, I beg you. For the love of all elephants in TES, I implore you to find a way to let Mrs. Buckley meet up with the TES elephants again. PLEASE, I beg you. Dear Liz, rest in peace. May the Lord bless you, may you see your family and friends again.
